Shoojit Sircar’s 1911 postponed again

Director Shoojit Sircar’s film ‘1911’ starring John Abraham continues to suffer from endless delays. The film was first planned to begin last year but was put on hold due to John’s busy schedule.

It was then scheduled to go on floors by the end of this year, but now we hear that it has been postponed again. There are also reports that the film has been temporarily shelved, mainly because the period film requires a huge budget.

Also, Sircar and his writer Juhi Chaturvedi have started working on a new story idea and that film will go on the floors before 1911.

1911 is said to be an inspirational story of late Indian footballer Sibdas Bhaduri, who captained Mohun Bagan in the historic 1911 IFA Shield final when they defeated the East Yorkshire Regiment to become the maiden Asian team to emerge victorious in the competition. JA Entertainment and Rising Sun Films will jointly produce the film.
