Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay has comprehensively beaten the ‘World Television Premiere’ ratings of Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Both films released during the Diwali weekend last year.
Premiered on Star Gold on Sunday, 19th February, Shivaay was the most watched film on television for the week starting February 18 and ending February 24. It garnered viewership of 62,92,000 (62.92 lakhs), ahead of the television-blockbuster Sultan which continued to outperform with viewership of 47,99,000 (47.99 lakhs).
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil premiered on television on 26 January (Republic Day holiday) and managed to get viewership of 24,23,000 (24.23 lakhs) on Colors channel.
Inspite of its under-performance, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, considering the genre of the film, did fairly well becoming the best premiere for 2016 Dharma Productions film. Kapoor & Sons, their best trending box office film last year, had significantly lower viewership of 14,18,000 (14.18 lakhs).
Salman Khan remains the top superstar on television, which adds tremendous value to the stardom he commands at the box office. His 2015 film, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo crossed 2.5 crore viewership, while his 2016 release Sultan topped 1 crore and followed it up with insanely high ratings almost every time the film was aired on television. In fact, the fifth airing of Sultan just fell short of 1 crore – which was more than the World Television Premiere ratings of all films in 2016 – barring Sultan itself.

To add to it, Bajrangi Bhaijaan is one of the most loved films on television too – making it three mega successes in a row for the numero uno superstar in the last 2 years.

@indicine no matter how much you promote lallu but one thing is sure that general public never believes you and you will always remain a loser. Biggest numero uno megastar is aamir khan not salman. You must be paid by salman and you are big hater of aamir and jealous of his success because your loser lallu can never be as big a star as aamir and doesnt posess even half the stardom aamir posesses. So shut your mouth and get lost. Your website is flop and no one will read it. Aamir is beyond all overhyped stars like salman and srk in worldwide superstardom. Dangal and pk are top 2 highest grossers worldwide and domestic and overseas as well. So get this strait in your head. Salman never will be as big as aamir. Period.
Shivaay is one of the best movie of Bollywood and has raised the bar by different kind of action..normally other directors don’t dare and go for such action…
To be Candid one thing that stills make Ajay Devgn a big name is Irrespective of The Verdict , His movies are rarely a miss. Forget crtism other fans posts the fact remains even they know they just have to watch his movie and the reason is simple he is a fabulous Actor a Critically Acclaimed Superstar who just faces his business. I get to wonder below success movies like Zakhm and TLOBS won him National Awards despite critics always bashing him. He is also the first to have a Official 100 cr movie that was considered Just Average some like Indicine even called it Flop but this Man just has something in him that is why no matter how I may bash him He is someone I respect deep in me.

Am still so shocked that 2016 best VFX did to go to Shivaay. The man deserves a standing ovation be we whoever Fan let’s speak up from Day 1 Shivaay was bound to get critism and reason is simple , Many Leading Banners were stunned that a World Class movie was made by a very inexperienced Professional. Now I fully believed Shivaay earned 100 cr plus just that outsiders were making so many Faults because in my city Raipur this movie was the talk of the town from tweets to Fbook the general public Response was another level.
I watched shivaay in theatre as well as on the tv.shivaay is a good movie.how can u people described a movie good or bad on their earning. do u know how much hard need to make a film like shivaay.ajay devgn gives to this and how much money he invested in this project.

I was the one who have watched its premiere but stopped after a boring half hour
saw the second half of the movie Shivaay tonight for 30 minutes on Stargold.. hmm could not digest this film.. now this film was a successful film and also did better on tv than ADHM?!!! ppl are one of the following: either they are biased and would just watch a film for their favorite actors, or they are some stupid audiences!!! If a film like Rangoon became a disaster at the box office then…I have no words!!!!
Well I got a new job my friends r asking me for treat interms of movie..But v r missing supremestar SALMAN sir film very badly,v didn’t watch SRK films anymore in theatre ha ha ha.. Nobody s interested in SRK now,last film v watched in theatre is Sultan..Not even Dangal at d theatres.n v r looking for Pawan Kalyan,Ajith,mahesh Babu films over SRK..
