Sher Khan EID 2013: Sohail Khan confirms

Dabangg, Bodyguard and this year’s Ek Tha Tiger have all smashed box-office records. What’s common between those films? Well, it’s the release date. Salman Khan created a new festive weekend for EID and he literally conquered it with back-to-back blockbusters.

A lot of eye-brows were raised when Balaji announced the release date of their keenly-awaited sequel to Once Upon A Time In Mumbai. Several questions were being asked both in the industry and on the internet; Has Salman decided to slow down a little after Dabangg 2, given his health condition? With Balaji scheduling their film for EID, will Salman back out and let Akshay have a solo release? If he indeed wants a release for EID 2013, which film will be opt for – No Entry sequel or Sher Khan?

Finally, we have some official news. Sohail Khan has confirmed that they are starting Sher Khan in January 2013 and will release the film during EID. Priyanka Chopra is likely to be cast as the female lead (unconfirmed).

It’ll be interesting to see if Balaji now back out and postpone the release of Once Upon A Time In Mumbai 2. Or are we set for an epic clash?

  • Salman khan ki movie ab koi direct kare usse kuchh bhi fark nahi padta hai wanted.dabangg. Ready .bodyguard.ek tha tiger sabhi film ke director alag the aur sabhi film box office par paise ki barshat kar diya tha this is salman bhai power

  • if salman is man enough, let him postpone his movie to a normal day and make it a hit!!!thats my open challenge. its a man’s insecurity and disaster to proclaim release on same day every year…how pathetic. and indicine…please stop pampering salman.sohail khans history in bollywood is a disaster…a child artist called darsheel in taare zameen par has better track record than sohail.and as most people debated over here…eid is not a reserve date for any actor…be it any so called salman. let him prove his worth against the multitalented akshay kumar who has won awards in all formats of acting!!!be it villain, comedian, action king, romance( dhadkan) and as supporting actor( yeh dillagi).

    2.Aamir( as ammir does rare film…which are truly gem)

    now why….
    there was a time when Salman and aamir films were compared to SRk…
    but now times hv changed…
    even Ra 1. is not a clear big hit…Don 2 (though a good movie) but could not beat ready,dabanng etc…
    so what matter’s is presnet box-office collection…
    plus even the trailer of JTHJ (didn’t appeal me that much)…but one thing is sure that it will be gr8 movie…how big collections will tell…but i hv gr8 expectations….but still there lies a tough competition
    in terms of ETT & 3 idiots..( predictions are impossible as JTHJ can beat the past 2 titans) but only time will tell…
    but i love ………….love stories ….so ll definitely watch JTHJ….
    for now just check the stats before posting comments…

  • After making 4 Crores on its opening day at the domestic box office, OMG Oh My God! saw a good growth on Day 2. The movie made an approx 5.35 Crores on its 1st Saturday at the box office.
    The two day total of domestic box office collections is approximately 9.35 Crores. Even though the collections received a spike on Saturday it is still doubtful if the movie will have a good weekend. Reason being Day 1 box office collections and a crucial Cricket Match on Sunday. When it is Cricket v/s Bollywood, there really is no way that Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal starrer OMG has a chance.
    The best OMG Oh My God! will make in its 1st weekend is about 15 Crores. Tuesday being a holiday might do some benefit to OMG but it depends how well the trend is carried over.
    If we look at the last 2 releases of Akshay Kumar, Joker and Rowdy Rathore one realizes that the box office collections are going down by the movie.
    Rowdy Rathore was super hit with an opening day collection of 15.01 crores, Joker flopped with a 4.60 Crores opening and OMG as the term goes is “Bhagwaan Bharose” with just 4 Crores opening day collection. Opening weekend and week comparisons show a similar trend. Rowdy Rathore had made 48.05 Crores and 79.52 Crores on its opening weekend and week respectively. Joker couldn’t carry on the trend and made 15 Crores and 20 Crores on its opening weekend and week respectively. And OMG Oh My God! seems to have started on the lines of Joker. We sincerely hope it doesn’t become another Joke like Shirish Kunder’s Joker.

  • @all akki fans and omg movie lovers,let the haters bark for 2 or 3 more days maximum.because after that they can not speak anything bad about this movie.this movie is great and word of mouth is also very strong,so no need to worry about it.it will work great definetly just like kahani and vicky donor(poor opening,great lifetime collections).

  • Ready jo ki non holiday me ayi thi aur comedy film thi total collection 125 crore tha.jisko touch karne ke liye srk aur dusre actor ki film festival pe release kar ne ke baad bhi ready ko touch kar ne ke liye saare actor ki gad fat jati hai to kya salman bhai se clash panga lenge
