Shekhar Suman is currently in talks with two corporate houses for producing commercial films. The deal is reportedly worth Rs 80 crore.
Shekhar Suman is getting more ambitious by the day. The actor, who has just cut a music album, is now all set to turn producer. And no, Shekhar isn’t going to stay in his comfort zone and produce TV shows, as he did earlier with the hugely popular Simply Shekhar. He will be producing hard-core commercial films this time.
The actor is currently in talks with two corporate houses for a joint venture to produce films. The deal is reportedly worth Rs 80 crore. The joint venture is keen on signing new directors and (of course) prominent commercial actors for the films.
According to a source, “The potential deal is for multiple and moderate budget movies, which will be produced jointly by Shekhar and the corporate houses. The deal is approximately worth Rs 80 crore. This is a big move for Shekhar, since the deal is likely to pave the path for him in the film industry again. In fact, Shekhar has been toying with the idea for quite some time and is currently in talks with the corporate houses. The deal is going to be finalised very soon.”
Shekhar, who is in Bangkok, was reluctant to divulge too many details. He simply said, “Yes, I am in talks with two corporate houses to produce films. When the deal is finalised, I will announce it publicly. It is too premature to talk about it right now.” Shekhar also refused to give us the names of the two corporate houses he is in talks with.
When quizzed about the kind of films he is going to produce, he said, “The movies will be good content- based movies with total commercial production values. It is important to recover the money that we spend on the films.”
The source adds, “As Shekhar is a well-known actor, he will probably act in the films too. Shekhar is very excited about this new venture. For the past few months, Shekhar and his wife Alka are busy checking out every detail of the deal.”
