Shanghai was expected to open slow and then pick up depending on word-of-mouth. That’s exactly what has happened as the film released on 1100 screens all over India, opened to low occupancy for the morning shows.
Going by the response from those who have already watched it, Shanghai seems to have limited appeal towards single-screen audience. It’s a dark non-massy, but well-made film that’s expected to pick up at urban multiplexes over the weekend.
Films like Kahaani and Vicky Donor too opened to a similar response on Friday and then picked up due to strong word-of-mouth. It remains to be seen if Shanghai too will follow a similar trend.
Stay tuned for all the Shanghai Box Office Updates.
