After releasing a teaser poster yesterday, the makers of Udta Punjab have released a new poster featuring Shahid Kapoor. Long hair, ripped physique and rock star look – Shahid impresses with his look and styling.
The movie, scheduled to release in theatres on June 17, also features Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh.

Terrific poster !! With this one and Rangoon, Shahid will deliver quality this year. Great cast + great director + appealing subject… Udta Punjab looks damn good !

Shahid has the physique, dances like a dream, looks convincing in both serious and romantic roles, has a decent collection of good work in Jab we met, Haider, Kameeney and Vivaah but one of the reasons he has not been able to make it big enough even though he has the charm and grown from strength to strength is that he has not been supported well by a really big production house and most of his movies have lacked a good screenplay and at times direction. How many times have we watched a shahid movie and felt towards the end, “could have been made better”! Now if an actor who is yet to break into the top 7 of the industry ends up doing movies like phata poster nikla hero and more recently shandaar then, well, some wrong career moves also are to be blamed. It is commendable that Shahid who made his debut thirteen years back in 2003 is still holding on. Give this guy a big budgeted, well researched movie with a layered and finely written script and you bet, Shahid will nail it! He is absolutely top class!
