Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has booked the Christmas 2018 for the most ambitious film of his career, which will be directed by Tanu Weds Manu Returns director Aanand L Rai.
The announcement is a change in strategy for Shah Rukh, who prefers to announce his films only after it goes on floors.
This one is most special to all of us. And the title is too sweet. Wait for it.

Shah Rukh has an impressive lineup of upcoming films which includes Gauri Shinde’s Dear Zindagi (Nov 2016), Rahul Dholakia’s Raees (Jan 2017), Imtiaz Ali’s untitled film (August 2017, tentative) and Aanand L Rai’s next which has just been announced for December 21 2018.
The ‘Dwarf’ film will be the most expensive and ambitious film of Shah Rukh’s career.

That means we’ll have to wait for two odd years.
Good that finally he booked a date in advance but then he should change the release date of Imtiyaz Ali film (if at all he is planning to release it on independence day).
Because in that case, the gap between Raees and Imtiyaz Ali film will be too short and between Imtiyaz Ali film and the Dwarf film will be too long.
With Diwali and Xmas are already booked, the preferable release period for Imtiyaz movie should be Dushera. Fine , if it will be releasing during pre-diwali period, but eventually it will be better than entering into a clash.

SRK has been recently facing criticism for delaying in booking the release dates. So this is a welcome change from his normal practice. It was about time he changed it.
My most awaited movie of SRK coming on the big Christmas release date. What can get better than that !!! Considering the release date this now officially becomes his biggest movie ahead of Raees and movie with Imtiaz Ali.
Have very high hopes from SRK – Anand Rai combo. Extremely excited about this movie !!!!!

Wasn’t Ra.One and FAN one of the most ambitious films? And look where it got him :P :P Well Christmas and New year will save him this time. Just like it saved dilwale.
Anyway I was not in favour of Xmas 2017 release since the very beginning :
1. That weekend is already crowded with Hirani and Bhansali targeting it.
2. With Raees and Imtiyaz film releasing in 2017, there was no room for another SRK flick in 2017, as at this stage he should do not more than two movies in a calendar year.
3. Shooting of Anand’s movie is not yet started. Besides, it will have a lot of VFX work involved so if they would have targeted 2017, may be quality of the movie would have been compromised as they had to work in a tight schedule to meet the deadlines.
