Shah Rukh Khan begins shooting for Gauri Shinde film

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has begun shooting for Gauri Shinde’s untitled film also starring Alia Bhatt in the lead. The two actors are seen standing on a ferry, Alia is seen next to SRK who is getting his hair done.

The cast and crew of the yet-to-be titled film are in Goa to shoot for the film.

Shah Rukh is currently working on three films simultaneously. He has been shooting for Raees, promoting FAN and now has begun shooting for the Gauri Shinde film.

  • In between turbulent political ambiance Shah Rukh Khan strikes again. And says, let’s dance! And dance as if there’s no tomorrow.

Shah Rukh Khan has always been criticized by the Leftists for being too consumerist. His self-obsession and business brain must have posed serious threat to some of their ideologies for the last 25 years. It’s a different matter though that the Left mysteriously came to his support when some Right wing elements called foul upon him a while back. But shshshshshsh, that’s behind us. What faces us in front is the song ‘Jabra’ from the Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Fan’ produced by the Yash Raj camp, where the actor energetically grooves to the music.

To all those who have criticised SRK for his desperation with self, the actor has served them on platter something that is philosophically called “thenga”! The song shows a hero that is Khan and a fan, which is also Khan, as he hops around madly around his own billboard, of course within the boundaries of the script which requires him to do so. And yet, there’s something much beyond the peripheries of this script which says, if you are not your biggest fan then who else is? If you don’t dance heedlessly to your own tunes, then why should anybody else?

Reminds me of a Kareena Kapoor dialogue from the Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Jab We Met’. “Main apni favourite hoon!”

That “thenga” seems to be for everyone who judged him by his age; for everyone who said he’s over and done; had questioned his selection for the last few releases; and had made fun of his self-selling propaganda. He dismisses them all and proclaims that he is his own fan, and unapologetically so, undeterred by the rest of the world or their opinions. A group of people said they’ll ban his films and cause him losses. They threatened him with dire consequences. Lyrics of the song at some part sound like, “Tere (read mere) madness ne mujhe dhitth kar diya”!

This, on one hand. On the other, he arouses his fans yet again with that cute personification; may be especially those who mouthed openly their displeasure with him in the recent times. The song reminds, “Main to handle karoon har ghanta tera”, as if the star is throwing a challenge to the world – take them away if you can.

What drives back home end of the day is a simple call – Don’t worry, let’s dance! A master stroke. A perfect timing. And a marvellous way of standing by himself. That typical Khanatic language right from the beginning of his career. Make sure you walk away with hearts; so what if the other guy gets to keep the heroine! You may create ruckus in theatres; you may disrupt his shows. But how will you strip him off the love that has become his second skin?

Not sure whether this song was meant to be as symbolic as my blog explains, but it certainly conforms to the Shah Rukh Khan brand of doing it differently and doing it in style.

Shah Rukh Khan, the man known for taking inordinate risks on silver screen and emerge successful, seems to be back. Hardly would any other actor dance like a maniac over himself and kiss self-photographs and get along with it! But this one, we are loving. It has been a habit and custom for 25 years to fall for the SRK fever. And for 25 years fans had been meaning to say, “Tujhe dekhte hi dil mei tantaran ho gaya!”

Hum to kab se isi dhun par naach rahe hai Sir!!!! Aaj aap nei bhi naach diya.

Fan forever for SRK. Imnu Jabra Fan

  • srk +, salman khan+ aamir khan_ edx = a big zero . when all three khans would be retired permanently .. when they will be sitting in their home after retirement from bollywood ,, when all their stupid roles with pathetic scripts come to an end when all is SaId and done by all 3 khans when all the dust is settled whole boollywood including whole and world will remeber cherish chant idolize only one name and tat is chanting done of hrithians hRIThIk HRITHik hrithik …………………………………………………

  • Knowing that his time is up, he is desperately trying to save his superstar status. Only a kabir khan or raju hirani can save him but alas not for the next 5 years. I’m making a bold prediction and all you guys are reading it for the first time anywhere you google: none of khans movies in 2016 shall cross 200cr. Copy and paste this comment and remind me when needed.

  • srk has capacity to match any women….He his remaking a film called Angoor with rohit shetty but after seeing old Angoor i am really exciting for this Film….and imdb has also given 9/10star…..

  • Despite being a srk fan i do no count it srk movie because hearsay srk is doing cameo in this film. What might be the next srk movie after raees and when will be the right time for release@indicine.

  • all SRKians dont expect FAN to cross 200cr or 300cr it wont bcoz it os niche genre it doesn’t have any songs in the film n movies like this will be liked n watched by mostly multiplex people.
FAN is not about breaking records it is about acting, acting n acting.
for me DILWALE is the last film for SRK as THE SUPERSTAR now its time for SRK THE ACTOR
after watching FAN anthem iam expecting a performance of a lifetime from SRK.

  • @ Indicine: U did not post this news so please allow it to be posted here as this is a SRK news related page and I am copying the article from another website:

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan loved every bit of getting back to his “roots” here on Tuesday. From visiting his college in Delhi University’s North Campus to the lovers’ spot at PVR Priya, the actor was upbeat about sharing his “Dillipan” that he has got to showcase on the big screen with his upcoming film “Fan”.

After an overwhelming experience at his alma mater, Hansraj College, where he finally collected his graduation degree 28 years after passing out of the institution, SRK held a media conference at the PVR Priya theatre in south Delhi to promote “Fan”.

“I love you Shah Rukh,” screamed his several fans, who had won a contest of sorts to meet the actor and were seated in the balcony of the theatre, which SRK described as the “unaffordable” hostspot for lovers of his time.

Looking suave in a bearded look, the 50-year-old couldn’t thank “Fan” director Maneesh Sharma enough for letting him explore his “Dillipan”.

He said he had been longing to play a Delhi boy, and that he was “more envious than jealous” of other actors who got to play such roles on screen. Because he has been living in Mumbai for the past 25 years, he felt would have forgotten the ‘Delhi dialect’, but he is glad that with “Fan”, he could go back to it.

“I would like to thank Maneesh that he brought me to my roots and gave me a Delhi character to play. This film is very special to me. Not just is this story special, but technologically, the visual effects and make-up that have been used in this film, I think that hasn’t been used anywhere in the world.

“I feel for Hindi films, there will be something to look upto in terms of where we can go with visual effects and make-up,” Shah Rukh said.

The film features Shah Rukh in two avatars — one as superstar Aryan Khanna, a reflection of his own persona, and another as Gaurav, a fan of the superstar.

He was in the capital to launch a special anthem “Jabra fan”, to be used as a promotional song for the movie. A peppy track, it features Shah Rukh in Gauravs’s avatar, dancing away on Delhi’s streets.

To a question posed by IANS on whom was he a fan of while growing up, SRK said: “I was not a fan of the extent shown in the film… So, as far as liking is concerned, there were two or three people I grew up really loving and trying to know about as there was no internet back in those days to be able to read up on some or collect a picture.

“One would be Mr. Milkha Singh. I loved stories about him, and how he used to be a champion. I used to be a big fan of his. The second would be Muhammed Ali… I was into sports, so I always liked his being little brashy and bratty, and still being so good at his sport.

“Then of course, all of us have grown up being Mr. Amitabh Bachchan’s fans. I was one of them too. So, yes these three people… And strangely, because I was into sports, I have mostly sporting people that I was a fan of… Like Sunil Gavaskar.”

Interestingly, Shah Rukh even mentioned Olympic gold medal-winning Bruce Jenner, who has become Caitlyn Jenner.

“I am glad that me and my daughter both know him or her as well because I never thought my children will be introduced to Bruce Jenner in a different avatar — kind of like ‘Fan’…. like I am being introduced in a different avatar after 25 years.”

Shah Rukh also said he loved reading about and even got the opportunity to meet Mother Teresa, and that he was also a fan of actor Michael J. Fox.

  • indicine ….Megapixel of your papparazzi crew cameras are quite low and poor. Dull pix…

    Jeez…Aaliya is short!!

Well it’s a Srk movie so ..I have to be on alert…
Personal wish was for him to stick with just 2 movies this year…buh no qualms wish it the best and will watch it.

  • @EDX Khans have given more number of non-festive hits than the total number of films your favorite star has been part of..you fool

  • what we want more from king khan???? he is the best actor in Bollywood any given day……just give him camera and the rest you know it……really happy for him he give the best movies line up……his energy cant comparable??

  • @Indicine you are saying that this is a Srk movie, when we all know that he is doing a cameo or an extended cameo role in this movie, and if you are doing this then plz tell me why you won’t consider “Billu” movie as an Srk movie, in that movie also Srk did extended cameo role or I can say more than that because he has 2-3 songs in that movie and also his face is there in all movie poster. Then why don’t you add this movie verdit (which is FLOP) in Srk career, because if you add than he cannot break the record of 15 consecutive hits of Rajesh Khanna…..or you won’t consider this Gauri Shinde movie as an Srk movie…..Plz reply…

  • A supporting role as Buddha perfectly suits him. His career is almost over and aamir will destroy his career completely this year. While lallu is also gonna retire after floptan’s debacle. Only waiting for dangal.

  • Now indicine is saying that it is an SRK film. after the release and flop of the film Indicine will be saying that it’s not an SRK film.
    What a logic Indicine.

  • Still not confident whether he is cameo or having full fledged role.
    @indicine
dont you have any inside report about his character?

  • It looks Grandpa and his grand daughter besides him!! Way to go Ram Lal!
all the best to ur film where u r playing a role which justifies your current look..

  • All three next SRK movies look great but the MOST intriguing story line appears to be that of FAN. It seems that it is a story of a die-hard and crazy fan (Gaurav Chandana) who turns against his idol (Aryan Khanna) and then a tussle starts between them. May be it is about a Fan making his idol realize the importance of a Fan. I love it that YRF has ensured the secrecy around the movie and the plot which makes things even more intriguing and interesting. I would not also want the trailer to give away much.

In Gaurav Chandana I am expecting the return of SRK we saw in Darr, one of my most favorite films of SRK. It has been such a long time we haven’t seen the crazy side of SRK which we saw in Baazigar, Darr and Anjaam.

So it shall be great to see him in the kind of role which initially made him a star. How many heroes can claim that they became stars and were loved by audience for throwing the heroine from the roof top of a building? Killing a girl who was deeply in love with him in such a cold manner? Still remember the strange look at his face when he says to Shilpa Shetty that I am freeing you please forgive me and then pushes her from the roof top. He shall have been loathed for it but no, that moment alone created one of the biggest stars ever of the Indian cinema (and for me second only to Amitabh Bachchan).

Similarly, how can audience love a person who stalks the heroine and cowardly attacks the hero from behind? All logic says that you should cheer for the brave hero who is saving his heroine from this crazy/lunatic person but no, it was one of those very rare movies in which the audience felt sad when the hero kills the villain at the end. At least I wanted Juhi in the end to understand how much SRK loved him but when she asks Sunny to kill SRK in the end you can see the disappointment in SRK’s face and feel sad for him. One of the best scenes of Darr was obviously when Sunny realizes it was SRK who was the stalker and beats him like hell. SRK falls down and begs him for his life. The good natured hero feels pity and stops for a while and looks away. Suddenly SRK stands up and shoves the knife in him and then immediately starts apologizing to him :) That was one cheap shot and people loved him for it.

So I really really miss that SRK. 100/200/300/400 cr can all go to hell. Gaurav Chandana, just bring that SRK back.

Fan, for me, is easily the most awaited movie for the year (in fact haven’t waited like this ever for any movie). Such high expectations also frighten me a bit but I am hoping and praying that this movie turns out to be the greatest ever treat for the SRK fans and also enjoyed by the neutral ones. And regardless of how good or bad or how hit the movie turns out to be, we, SRK fans, love you un-conditionally.
