Screen Awards 2014 Nominations

The nominations for the 20th Annual Life Ok Screen Awards 2014 is out! Some of the best films of 2013 like Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Kai Po Che, The Lunchbox and Madras Cafe have been nominated in the ‘Best Film’ category. Quite surprisingly, Hansal Mehta has been nominated in the ‘Best Director’ category for Shahid, a fantastic film that didn’t get the recognition it deserved.

In the ‘Best Actor’ category, the notable omission is Hrithik Roshan, who hasn’t been nominated in the best actor category, even though other popular performances from Aamir Khan (Dhoom 3), Shahrukh Khan (Chennai Express) and Ranbir Kapoor (Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani) have been nominated.

Nimrat Kaur, who delivered one of 2013’s best performances in ‘The Lunchbox’ has been nominated for Best Actress, along with Deepika Padukone who has received 2 nominations for Chennai Express and Ram Leela.

All the popular acting performances of the year have been nominated in the popular category.

The Screen Awards 2014, hosted by Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan, will be held on January 14th 2014. It will be telecast on Life Ok channel on Jan 24.

  • I do not believe in awards – they normally go to SRK (he is a star not an actor). Best acting goes to Aamir, Irfan and Hrithik – they are very talented. Shradda Kapoor is an excellent actress.

  • what an idiotic nomination list for actor in popular choice???why we need 7-9 nominations. of course the actor who has done more movies in a calendar year should be awarded. thats commonsense. because the actor has minimum guarantee to deliver hits, approached by producers and audience will go for it. blockbuster status should not be a criteria.

  • @babaji what a coincidence Shahid played Rajkumar character and Rajkumar played Shahid character. Quite confusing.

  • what a joke DHOOM3 Not nominated in best film and best director where as it was the most successful movie of the year. When people liked it for that reason it was such a huge hit. Anyway for me Aamir khan deserve bet actor award. But he will not get it as he don;t attend the award functions.

  • This iz quite a shocking nominations….fuck off 2 screen awards
Hrithik Roshan shud definitely b dere in d best actor category. Dey r putting srk in d list bt nt hrithik, jus bcoz srk wll host…how unfair iz dis? srk ovracted in dat brainless entertainer & k3 was far better dan CE.
Evn akshay & spcl 26 deserves nomination in d major categories. its an xcellent movie bt gt sidelined.
Evry year srk gt d benefit of awards n nominations as bcoz either hosting or gvng bribes 2 d producers…
I m 100% sure srk wll take an award wid him at d end of d show as he iz hosting
    Totally fixed…
    Lol screen awards
    Hope filmfare wll b fair

  • Nowadays if u were most popular & overated actors & also hv loads f money den u can win all d tym…
    Awards r fixed
Thnx 2 srk & mgt 4 proving dat
Bt m happy 4 dhanush who deserves too
    May d deserving person wins

  • Srk and farhan both should get best actor jury awawards jointly…both gave finest performance …differently.

  • Relax guys. Nobody cares about the winners of these award functions, this is just another star studded night for only entertainment. Only National Awards and Filmfare Awards are counted in India, although Filmfare is also losing its credibility judging by last year’s function, which were quite biased towards UTV movies for some obvious reasons.

  • Totally fake screen awards.. The best performer of 2013 is HRITHIK and he is not in the list of best actors. There is shahrukh for chennai express and for overacting how much did he pay screen award. fixed!

  • Hi guys. Sorry but as a bollywood fan I say:- this is the worst award function I mean (screen awards).
Even last year was the same.
    It was boring.
They gave the awards to people who don’t deserve it.
    Unfair Unfair.
Hope if they correct their mistakes.
I think still they have chance to make it right.
Honestly Hrithik as Rohit Mehra and as Krrish in Krrish 3 deserves both the awards (jury and Popular) more than Shahrukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor.
YJHD is not a good film as Krrish 3.
Krrish 3 is an international film.
It is one of the best films of the year.
Bollywood has never done something like that you should thank to Hrithik and Rakeshji.
Guys don’t forget that the song Raghupati Raghav from Krrish 3 which has the best dance steps is not in the (best choreoghraphy category ).
Just imagine what they are doing.
They have problems with the success of the Roshans
    look at this
Krrish 3 doesn’t have these categories in the nomination list:-
Best actor jury – Hrithik Roshan
Best film – Krrish 3 – The most famous and successful superhero film in Bollywood
Best supporting actor – male and female
    Best choreoghrophy – Remo D’souza – Raghupati Raghav – Krrish 3
Best costume – what about kaal and kaya’s costume in Krrish 3

Even a great film Aashiqui 2 is missing in the lyrics category
what about tum hi ho and the other songs.
Even Shahid Kapoor missing in the Best comic role category – what about R…Rajkumar and PPNH.
Even Danush is missing in the most promising actor.

All is not fair and it is not about talent anymore.
It is cheating. We are not fool to follow, go to and watch this boring awards show.

  • Sonam kapoor not nominated for Raanjhanaa….????? cant believe…. wtf jury saw in Shraddha Kapoor over sonam kapoor….!!!!!!!
Raanjhanaa & Lootera deserve in Best Film category….
Ranveer Singh in Ram leela or Lootera was far better than SRK in CE..!!

  • Best Actor- Aamir Khan for Dhoom 3….Best Actress- Deepika for ramleela…Best comedy- Chucha for Fukrey….Best Choreography-ABCD – Remo D’Souza,Arvind Thakur,Anand Kumar, Jayesh Pradhan, Uma & Gaiti….Best Action-Commando – Franz Spilhaus….Best Playback Singer (Female)-Chinmayi Sripada – Titli (duet Chennai Express) or Shreya Ghoshal – Sunn Raha Hain Na Tu… (Aashiqui2)….Best Actress in a Negative Role-Supriya Pathak/Kapur – Ram-Leela…..Most Promising Newcomer (Female)-Vaani Kapoor – Shuddh Desi Romance-Most Promising Newcomer (Male)-Sushant Singh Rajput – Kai Po Che….Best Film-Bhaag Milkha Bhaag…..

  • @ssss Your second line starts off with a derogatory word so hopefully that makes you happy and content as that is your days biggest achievement…!

    Chill dude….

    Take a chill pill…

Now that you are calm /relaxed, take those two words at face value and take a hike outta here you whinging nobody…

PS why all the furore over such awards- actors who foolishly leave their cheque book at home deserve no award…Serves them right fir thinking all is fair in love and war but this is Bollywood where an evil Thakur reigns over the media/ administrators….! Its common law nowadays- a law introduced by our Youtube King and Kapoor Khandaan- the award goes to the highest bidder- simple mathematics- no surprises- no shock…! To all cinelovers/ cinegoers, accept the harsh reality as the next month will only bring more misery with more obscene nominations and absurd winners like Sarkar Rukh Khan for being Best Driver In Movie for driving Chennai Depress in Crappy Express over Aamir driving his BMW bike underwater in Dhoom 3…! :-P

  • best actors are farhan akhtar(!!!) for bhaag milkha bhaag and deepika padukone for her talent.
they worked really hard and their acting skills were the best. didn’t like much movies of 2013 though. newcomers are all terrible..on screen romances ends up in real life love episodes..ridiculous so much for “acting”

too bad it’s all a set up..
