Activists from a local organisation attacked ‘Padmavati’ director Sanjay Leela Bhansali on the sets of his film in Jaipur, Rajasthan. There are reports that the filmmaker was slapped, abused and the activists also tore his clothes.
Members of Karni Sena stalled the shooting of film at the Jaigarh fort. They’re unhappy with Sanjay for allegedly distorting historical facts in the movie.
“The film is presenting wrong information about Padmavati. Our basic protest is about distortion of historic facts which will not be tolerated” Vikram Singh, a Karni Sena activist said.
The Sanjay Leela Bhansali film stars Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati. Ranveer Singh plays the role of Alauddin Khilji and Shahid Kapoor is Ratan Singh.
Bhansali last directed the super-hit film ‘Bajirao Mastani’ which released during Christmas in 2015.
‘Padmavati’ is scheduled to hit theatres in November this year.

Though it was wrong to become violent and damage the sets because lot of people money is involved in the movie and a lot of people get their daily wages but when slb announced the film at that time only some protest was there he should have understand then only that the film could hurt the sentiments of some people. In the name of freedom of speech why everytime he have to hurt some peoples sentiments, if he wanted to make a historical film its not necessary to make film on real events he could have made fantasy movie like bahubali or anything why for publicity they have to hurt lical peoples sentiments.
