Actor Sanjay Dutt was all set to entertain the audience as Munnabhai at the Balgandharva Rangmandir in Pune on Thursday, but the cultural fund-raising programme was cancelled at the very last minute due to security reasons.
The two hour long show, which included a play and a song from Munnabhai MBBS, was to be directed by filmmaker Rahul Solapurkar.
Rajkumar Hirani, the director of the Munnabhai series of films and 3 Idiots, also visited the Yerawada Jail to oversee the rehearsals and chip in with his own tips for the play.
The function that promised to raise Rs 5 lakhs for the welfare of prison employees, was to be attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan and Home Minister R R Patil.
