Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has been granted 30 days parole by the Pune divisional commissioner. The actor, who is currently serving his jail for his indirect involvement in the 1993 Bombay Serial blasts, had filed for parole citing his daughter’s nose surgery.
The parole was granted on Monday, with a clause stating that it can be extended for a period of 60 days.
Back in 2007, Dutt was sentenced to six years in jail. He immediately served 18 months of his prison term after which he was out on bail, fighting his conviction until a court in March 2013 sent him back to jail.
Dutt is expected to be a free man at the end of the year.
