The Diwali clash between Ajay Devgan’s Son of Sardar and Shahrukh Khan’s next, is getting bigger and better.
Devgan is going out of his way to promote the film and has asked his good friend Salman Khan for an item number.
Khan agreed and even shot for one scene recently. Says Ashwini Dheer, the director of Son of Sardar “We shot for one scene with Salman recently. But he will be doing (shooting the rest) the song by the end of July. Presently we are shooting in Mumbai and we have almost finished some portion of the shooting in Patiala.”
Son of Sardar also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Juhi Chawla, Mukul Dev and Vindu Dara Singh. It’s slated for release on November 14th 2012.

Reports that Salman Khan had given a nod to Sooraj Barjatya’s ‘Bade Bhaiya’ were rubbished by Barjatya’s recent announcement that he is still working on a script that Salman would find compelling.

“I am still writing the script. We will be working together after 12 years and for that magic to be re-created, I need the best script. I need to have a good script to convince the actor,” Barjatya told Daily Bhaskar.
Barjatya even rubbished rumors that Arjun Kapoor will play the second lead in the film.
“These reports are not true. I haven’t approached anyone.”
On his recent one day halt in Mumbai on June 6, after wrapping Ek Tha Tiger in Thailand, Salman, 46, took a crucial decision on what would be his next movie and brother Sohail Khan’s Sher Khan got the nod, to be followed by Shirish Kunder’s Kick.
A source close to the Khan clan says, “This project is meant to be Salman’s first full-fledged homage to kids. The title Sher Khan was suggested by Sallu.”
Salman has featured back to back in action films such as Ek Tha Tiger, Dabangg 2, Sher Khan and Kick. The Barjatya romance film would have broken the spell.

Salman making ‘baap’ of superhero films to settle scores with SRK
His charisma is already as great as that of a real-life superhero; but Salman Khan is set to a step further this time around. According to the reports, the superstar of superstars is all geared up to mesmerise the audience by his divine weapons, and in this case his tresses, which reportedly he is going to grow long for the movie ‘Sher Khan’. Having said and done all, we wonder if this is an attempt to supersede his traditional rival Shah Rukh Khan in the ‘superheroic’ department as well. Although the latter ‘Ra.One’ was a mammoth hit at the Box-Office, but the film’s initial expenditure rendered the net revenues to be meager. With Salman being a sure-shot bull’s eye at the ticket windows nowadays, the producers are expected to make merry with this take.
Now, talking about the characteristics of this superhero, Salman will be playing a ‘Pathan’ with extraordinary powers in his shoulder-length hair. That’s an Indian male version of Medusa we are discussing here. It will make for an exciting watch though, for sure.
Speaking further, there is no chance that this movie would be shifted over to the backburner since it is a Sohail Khan production. Unless, of course, there is a divine intervention…

Salman offers Kick to Shirish
Director Shirish Kunder, who has apparently postponed the release of his ambitious sci-fi film, Joker, from August 31 to September 14, as it was clashing with actor Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger, says that he is directing the actor’s next film, Kick, on Salman’s own recommendation. “The offer came from Salman himself,” says Kunder. Kick is the Hindi remake of the Tamil superhit Thillalangadi, which was remade in Telugu and titled Kick. The Telugu version starred actors Ravi Teja and Ileana D’Cruz. The Hindi remake is being produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. “I have worked with Sajid Nadiadwala before,” says Kunder, who will start the film by the end of this year. “It’s a ready script, so everything came on a plate. I just have to do the creative work.”
Salman seems to be on a South film remake spree – and doing very well at it. He struck gold, back-to-back, with the Hindi versions of two films, Ready (2011) and Bodyguard (2011). Kunder himself says he is open to remakes.
“Writing a film and making it takes a long time,” he explains. “I am trying to be flexible enough to work on other people’s scripts so that I can make more films.”
However, he claims to be instilling the script of Kick with his own sensibilities and style so that the film has a bigger appeal.
“We will make it much better,” he says. “There is action but I will put in my style, not follow their style. We will give a more universal approach to it.”
