Prabhu Deva debuted as a director in Bollywood with Wanted and its success turned over a new leaf in Salman Khan’s career. Once again the choreographer-turned-director is planning to team up with the star for an action-packed drama.
Post Wanted, Salman hit the bull’s eye at the box office with a slew of hit action dramas like Dabangg, Ready, Bodyguard, Ek Tha Tiger and Dabangg 2.
“Now people want Salman to do only action. It may be an action film with Salman. The story and the script have not been locked yet, so can’t comment on it,” Deva said.
The film will be produced by Tips Industries Limited.
It’s a known fact that Wanted success revived Salman’s career, but Prabhudheva refuses to take the credit.
“I don’t take the credit at all. If I would not have directed, someone else would have directed him. He has a huge fan following.” he said.
His other Hindi film – “Rowdy Rathore” – was also an action drama, but the director said: “People accepted me as a action film director, but I am more romantic director as I am a choreographer before so with dance romance comes naturally.”
In fact, his next directorial venture “Ramaiya Vastavaiya”, starring Girish Taurani and Shruti Haasan, is a romantic movie. It is slated for a July 19 release.

Salman is not going to take the pains to prove anyone anything. period.
Why should he do offbeat films at the first place?
Most of the offbeat movie actors like Smita Patil, Om Puri and Naseeruddin have lashed out in the past for not getting their worth. Most of them have embraced commercial movie.
Everyone is here to earn a living, whether it is a star or a spot-boy.
Salman currently has his handsfull with movies, so why should be deliberately search for some offbeat directors for a movie? It doesn’t make any sense.
How many offbeat films did Amitabh did during his stardom period? None.
He did when his stardome waned and after many years after he retired from top.
There are actors who want to pick and choose cuz they are like that, in life too they are very choosy. Then there are people who go with the flow like Amitabh and Salman. They just put their head down and work as per what the director’s say or the story demand.
Everyone cannot be aamir, but the hard fact is that aamir can never be salman or amitabh. He knows his limitation, and hence he has carved a niche for himself in things that he would excel.
Can aamir do a Dabangg? Sincerely, can he do and make it a hit like Salman? He can never. But, what he does is that he would work it around that would suit his acting style. But the Dabangg role is for someone like Salman, you can’t change it, then it doesn’t do justice to the script or story writer’s character.
Even though am not a fan of srk romantic movie, but again here Aamir wouldn’t have made DDLJ a hit as Aamir did.
Similarly both srk and salman can never do a 3-idiots and repeat the humungous success it got.
So, each to his own.
Salman is never gonna do some offbeat films. Not when he is at his peak of stardom.

He can make DDLJ atleast more bearable as lets not forget its a 4 hr movie with so much overdosage of SRK. Aamir would cut out the insignificant scenes and go about getting the job done in say 2 and a half hours…! ;-)
And Dabanng Aamir- hhmm you right its Salman only but Aamirs Munna from Rangeela proves Aamir can transform and play a larger stature type character so it would have been interesting but to be fair Aamir could do a Singham role with more ease than a Dabanng type role.

Aamir & DDLJ WHAT A JOKE?AAMIR KHAN is an idiotic person who ATBB films after completing 20 to 21 years in bollywood. SRK gave ATBB films after completing 4 & 8 years in bollywood.
@ Navin, nope am not short selling Aamir, and i avoid ddlj whenever it is on tv, but have to accept that SRK’s time was bright during those years, while aamir was going through a transformation phase, and hence aamir doing DDLJ wouldn’t have resulted the euphoria it did with srk.

I loved DDLJ when it came out and the mid 90s period starting with Salmans HAHK in 94 right through to DDLJ and RH in 95 and 96 respectively was a period truly unrivalled and I guess its only right that the 3 Khans played a part in it all. Good days indeed..! ;-)

Your favourite actor can never do the magic what SRK did in DDLJ. Aamir was offered the role of Rahul Mehra in DARR.But he rejected that role.Because he got scared of Sunny Deol who was the box office king at that time.But SRK accepted that role & did it so well that he took the whole credit of the films success.Even though he was not the hero of the film.

Really? QSQT was a BB not a superhit…! A debut BB which the likes of Aamir, Salman and Hrithik will forever be associated with….! :-)
As for ‘DARR’, Aamir rejected the movie on the grounds he and Sunny were not on talking terms because of the sour way the relationship between their fathers ended. Later as a goodwill gesture Aamir did a cameo song in Santoshis Damini but remember that was a Rishi Kapoor film but Sunny outshone everyone due to his clash with Amrish Puri. Second lead actors can outshine lead actors, it happens to Srk too, example is Salman outperforming Srk in KKHH, Arjun Rampal looking more normal than the abnormal spooky G.one in Raavan Returns as Ra.one or Aditya Pancholi outshining scary srk in Anjaam…! :-P
