Bollywood megastar Salman Khan will be India’s goodwill ambassador for the 2016 Rio Olympics, which begins on August 5 this year.
It’ll be the first time that a Bollywood actor has been appointed as the goodwill ambassador for the national squad for an event as massive as the Olympics.
The announcement will be made in New Delhi in front of sporting stars like MC Mary Kom, Sardar Singh, Ritu Rani, Deepika Kumari, Archery, Apurvi Chandela, Manika Batra.
The announcement couldn’t have come at a better time because Salman himself will be playing the role of a sporting icon and a wrestler in his upcoming film ‘Sultan’ which releases in July this year.
