Rustom is all set to end its overseas business with gross collections of $6 million (Rs 40 crore). The film has emerged a ‘hit’ in the overseas market with share of 17.1 crore.
Back home in India, Rustom will finish with lifetime collections of 127 crore, making it the 3rd highest grosser of Akshay Kumar’s career. The all-India theatrical rights of the film was sold for Rs 39 crore. The distributor’s share from India will be around the 64.8 crore mark.
More importantly, Rustom has become the highest worldwide grosser of Akshay Kumar’s career.

200-300 crores is only achievable when you have a huge screen count,a release date when people are in a celebration mode and ready to spend and when you know that this is a only film which will release this year.. Only then all the people will throng to theatres and watch the movie. Ofcourse hiked ticket rates are an added bonus as people wont think spending double money when you know above factors.
I’m not degrading other stars but this is a fact.

Theyll rarely say

Saw Rustom twice at the cinema.. really good, 2 best of Akshay’s Airlift and this film.. all superstars deserve awards this year.. Akshay for Airlift, Shahruk for Fan, Salman for Sultan, and still we didn’t see Aamir’s film yet and Raees for Shahrukh, I think all of them deserve awards this year.
