Rowdy Rathore is Akshay Kumar’s highest grosser to date and it remains the film to beat 4 years of its release. With Rustom having exceeded every pre-release expectations of every analyst, the day-wise comparison with Rowdy Rathore will generate the most interest in the next few days.
At the end of the first week, Rustom was leading by Rs 13.30 crore, due to the fact that the film had both national and partial holidays. But the trend of Rowdy Rathore seems to be slightly better – leading by a small margin on Tuesday, Wednesday and the gap has further widened on the 8th day (2nd Friday).
For Rustom to beat the lifetime total of Rowdy Rathore, it has to show big growth on Saturday (it’s looking like a 5.5 – 6 crore total as per earlier estimates) and achieve a 8.5 crore plus total on Sunday. That would take the 10-day business of the film close to the 110 crore mark.
After that, Rustom would need around 25 crore to become Akshay’s highest grosser. Difficult, but achievable because ‘A Flying Jatt’ is unlikely to appeal to the multiplex audience, so Rustom could perform reasonably well in its 3rd weekend too.

Perfect loser for a reason. 4 years and still struggling to break his own record. It can be concluded that RR was a fluke for him. One film wonder can not be called superstar. Today, he is yet to achieve a record of 150 cr which is considered underperformer for khans. Only khans are superstars. Period.

Sanjay Gupta has confirmed Kaabil is not moving. They seem to be confident about the movie. It has hot, beautiful Yaami Gautam plus Rakesh Roshan. Rakesh Roshans calculator is more deadly than RCE calculator. January is a dull month, max combined will be 130 cr at best. So do you think @iamsrk should better shelve his movie and think about other projects? Or do u think Kaabil will move? If Raees gets postponed again SRKians will kill Ritesh Sidhwani, Your take? LOL
130cr is out of reach now surely..drop on friday sealed its fate…i was thinking around 5.5cr for 2nd friday, 2nd sunday (today) is the last day for it to collect big. from tomorrow, there might be huge drop. fingers crossed

Don’t compare Khans and A.K because there is a lot of difference, all are very good in their area. but Akki is the most versatile actor in bollywood, everyone agrees. also If Akki’s movie collects 100 CR. then It’s super hit because , production/film cost is equal or less than 50cr. only (strategy of akki movie) just opposite to Khans (normally 80-100 cr. cost).
Also He is managing 3-4 movies every year and It’s commendable, even his few past movies failed on box office but still they were profitable for producers because of having lower production costs. those film collected their costs even before releasing the movies by selling music rights/satellite rights/distributions etc.
That’s why Akki’s any producers get profit irrespective of movie getting flop or hit. so Akki is true bollywood khiladi.
But in case of Khans, If their movie won’t gain atleast 200 cr. then they won’t be able to manage their stardom because they generally release 1-2 movie every year also having movie cost around 90-100 cr. so It’s necessary for their movie to collect 200-300 cr.
