Bollywood is more open when it comes to showcasing sensuality and lovemaking scenes, as compared to the film industry in her homeland, says Pakistani actress Sara Loren.
Sara will be seen in Randeep Hooda and Aditi Rao Hydari-starrer “Murder 3”, releasing Friday. The movie is a franchise of the popular “Murder” series, known for its bold content.
Pakistan, she says, has a “different culture”.
“India is open about their ideas and sensuality of women. Lovemaking scenes over here are not such a big deal, and this has been there from the beginning in Bollywood,” Sara told IANS in an interview.
“People are liberal and here you can work the way you want to. I think I am bold and I like the scenes in ‘Murder 3’… you are doing a role at the end of the day,” she added.
The actress, who has also featured in Pakistani TV shows and films, made her Bollywood debut with 2010 movie “Kajraare”. Even though “Murder 3” is laden with bold content, the 27-year-old is sure that a film like “Murder 3” will work in Pakistan.
“Everyone is waiting for ‘Murder 3’. I guess people want to see the film there. They have seen ‘Jism 2’ too. People watch the films which they want to watch. I am connected with both the countries. I think people know how I am. They know I will go for roles that excite me,” she said.
As an actor, Sara follows her heart.
“I am not hurting anyone. I am just doing films. It’s not that now I will do only sensuous films. If there is a good film and the character has one or two scenes like this, I will do it,” she said.
She feels “Murder 3” will be her “official launch” in Bollywood, even while she admits “Kajraare”, directed by Pooja Bhatt, was a great learning experience for her.
“That was an experience for me. God has different plans for us I guess. ‘Murder 3’ will be my official launch.”
“Pooja Bhatt worked a lot (on me). She used to really get angry with me. In fact, I even cried. The way Pooja treats you, it is very different and difficult at the same time. I had a great bonding with her. She is aggressive, but is clear about her work. But what Pooja taught me helped me a lot, specially in sensuous scenes (in ‘Murder 3’),” she said.
Bollywood was never really on the charts for the actress. But she admits she was always drawn towards Hindi cinema’s romantic scenes.
“It just so happened I never planned to come into Bollywood. But yes, I love Bollywood, like all girls! One thing is for sure that I get attracted to sensuous and romantic scenes. I really like those scenes,” she said.
