  • Judiciary should not have taken such long time. Still every body has to respect Judiciary system of the country and accept it’s verdict.
Person like Salmankhan will definitely come out much stronger after serving the sentenced term.
Pray for him & his family.

  • our country is deeply divided country in so many ways and so we are all too divided …
after independence in last 65 years peoples of all class , colour , faith & grid were discriminated among\ each other when it comes to question of social justice & development…..!!
“Unity in diversity “- peoples in India across the society discriminate with each other under the different types of situation/places and so as film industry peoples do the same..!! so called filmy society always discriminate among their own society peoples (film star/tv star/super star/ etc..) in different way as per the situation WARRANTED/demanded or suit them …!! our so called filmy society is too deeply divided…!! we are deeply in shocked because our court has delivered justice after taking 13 years in to the case …which it self shoes how pathetic is our judiciary in this country…!! and all in all it is the Govt whom must make responsible for this kind of delay in delivering\ justice for all peoples ..!!

  • this is good part of our Indian system has come across , though the decision has come after so much years…. no one has right to taken others live, then whoever he will be… salman khan is really good human but still justice is justice….

  • salman khan is wonderful person and very helpful person he is very good heart so i pry to god very thing is good his life

  • According to me what the punishment sentenced by honourable court is least and it should be at least 10 years for dragging the case for 13 years by furnishing wrong witnesses to change the picture of the case.

  • Having been blessed with affluence, one who has been playing a good samaritan in several of movies inducing people to follow what is good and refrain from doing bad, he should not have been the cause of wasting 13 years of court time and public money, wrongly denying that he did not cause death and or damage and trying to establish the same by influencing with money power has possibly invited this punishment! Had he submitted to the court soon after the crime, may be all this anguish could have been over in a year at the most! Those supporting him saying that he does not deserve such a punishment should be dealt with contempt of court! Sr. Advocates, who could also be judges someday, pleading on his behalf with full knowledge that he is the culprit wasted the time of the court causing loss to exchequer should also be warned to respect the judiciary!

  • All are same under the law but i cant imagine how he gonna survive in jail from this celebrity status
hope he will be reform himself and this verdict should be a lesson to all …. sorry sallu bhai …waiting for ur come back ….

  • This is called the wild dog family mentality, no matter what they will support each other whether right or wrong.
A wrong thing is a wrong thing @ day 1 or after 13 years. If this Being Human guy would have understood the meaning of being human he would have confessed the same very first day, and another case of black buck killing is pending and if he is so generous & being human why did he killed aa innocent deer & slit her throat in the most brazen manner.
No matter how big you are ( what you think) the hands of law ay land will reach to your throat.
just get out of this backing your class of animal just think what those men have done when a drunk man with his SUV ran over them….

  • WHY INDIANN LAW IS DIFFRENT FOR POLITICIAN DIFFRENT FOR POOR AND DIFFRENT FOR CELEBRATY, A POOR MAN RAP A GIRL HE IS IN JAIL FOR 5 OR 8 YEARS, A RICH MAN RAP A GIRL HE IS IS FREE BECUSE HE HAS POWER TO MANIPULATE THE SYSTEM SOME NEWS IS HERE READY IT CAREFLLY Salman Khan hit-and-run case: Other high-profile hit-and-run cases
    IndiaToday.in New Delhi, May 6, 2015 | UPDATED 14:49 IST

Bollywood actor Salman Khan was sentenced to five years in prison in the 2002 hit-and-run case which killed one person and injured four others when his Toyota Land Cruiser mowed five people sleeping on the pavement outside a bakery in Bandra on September 28, 2002. The case took 13 years to come to an end when the Mumbai Sessions court held him guilty of all charges on Wednesday. The judge said Salman was drunk when the accident occurred.

Salman was in jail for some 17 days in 2002. The main prosecution witness, Ravindra Patil, the police guard who was in Salman’s security detail, and who filed the first FIR in the case died of tuberculosis in 2007.

On March 31, this year, Salman’s driver Ashok Singh was examined as defence witness. He said he was driving the car and not the actor, almost 13 years after the incident.

Here are the two other prominent cases of persons who ran over people while driving vehicles under the influence of alcohol.

Sanjeev Nanda and the 1999 Delhi hit-and-run case

Sanjeev NandaSanjeev NandaSanjeev Nanda, the grandson of Admiral SM Nanda, was sentenced to 2 years’ imprisonment by a trial court almost 10 years after Nanda ran his BMW over six people, including three Delhi Police officers who manned the checkpoint at Lodhi Road intersection, the site of the accident, on January 10, 1999.

Though Nanda and the other accused were initially acquitted and released in a trial in 1999, he was found guilty in 2008 in a re-trial. The accident occurred when Nanda was returning with friends from a late night party in Gurgaon. Reports said Nanda took the wheel despite his parents telling him not to.

Two constables and two others died on the spot, and another policeman and a bystander sucumbed in hospital. After the 1999 trial acquitted him, media outrage forced a re-trial in 2008 and he was found guilty of killing the six people. The Supreme Court in 2012 reduced his prison sentence to the two years he had spent in prison, added a substantial penalty, and sentenced him to do community service for two years.

Alistair Pereira and the 2006 Mumbai hit-and-run case

Alistair Anthony PereiraAlistair Anthony Pereira, the scion of a family of realtors, drove his Toyota Corolla onto a group of construction workers sleeping along Mumbai’s Carter Road when he was driving drunk on November 12, 2006. Seven people died and eight were injured. Pereira was sentenced to six months in jail by a local court leading to criticism which prompted the Bombay High Court to try the case and enhance the jail term to three years while convicting Pereira. Pereira was returning from a party at a five-star hotel when the accident occurred.

On appeal to the Supreme Court after the Bombay HC order sentenced him to 3 years in 2007, Pereira was granted bail but the apex court upheld the order. The Supreme Court said it cannot increase punishment since the state government had not sought more punishment. The HC had slammed the Mumbai police for shoddy investigation in the case, including not providing urine and blood reports on time and the failure to examine the other passengers in the car.

  • Crime is crime. Criminal must be outcast to send a good message to the society. Let Salman be scarified for this cause, so that common man can understand that no money, no influence even celebrity image can safe someone from the crime like hit and run away. It is a good message to the society that no body escape from such crime.

  • Love you Salman….None of d bad comments from haters can change u as a person!!!!!! …My prayers are always with you Salman…… :)
