Ram Leela has collected Rs 15.5 – 15.75 crore on its opening day at the box office, making it the 5th highest first day of 2013 after Chennai Express, Krrish 3, Besharam and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Deepika Padukone now has 3 films in the Top 5!
The film was outstanding in almost every circuit except West Bengal. Even though business was affected at a few places due to protests against the film’s release, it has managed to put up excellent numbers on Day 1.
First weekend business could cross the 50 crore mark, if there is no drop in business on Saturday. Since the film is performing phenomenally well at multiplexes, Saturday business could be slightly higher than Friday.
With the kind of opening that Ram Leela has taken, the film has a great chance of joining the ‘100 crore club’ as the word-of-mouth too is very good.
