Superstar Rajinikanth’s 159th film “Kabali”, in which he essays the role of a gangster, was officially launched here on Thursday.
Dressed in light blue jeans and dark blue full-sleeve shirt, Rajinikanth arrived for the film’s puja ceremony.
The entire cast and crew of the film, including producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu and director Pa. Ranjith were present at the launch.
The regular shooting of the film has also started.
According a source from the film’s unit, Rajinikanth has set 106 days for the shoot and will shoot for the film till January end.
While the first schedule of “Kabali” will be shot here, the team will move to Malaysia for the next leg of shooting.
The film, which is said to be based on the life of a Chennai-based don, also features Radhika Apte, Dhansikaa, Kalaiarasan and John Vijay, who play important roles.

I love underworld movies. Over the years Bollywood has produced some mind blowing Don movies company gangs of wassypur Agneepath2 athank hi athank sarkar don and Ouatim etc. Raees is coming I am very excited , hoping to see Aamir and Salman one day in a don type of movie. Hrithik was very good despite emulating an amitji original thank goodness he didn’t shiver this time?. Ajay there’s nothing I can say about him words are too short to compliment his acting esp in ouatim and company. Akshay hmm. Just leave him with comedies but I must admire their fans who have this unbelievable dream theory of his stardom which I feel is simply frustration and insecurity that’s why they begin to either bring highest earner issues on an acting article??. Well well well waiting for Raess. Pls Aamir and Salman pls if you can hear me we would love to see you guys in an underworld movie. Esp Salman

Very simple human. The number 1. South movies here are very good. They pay attention to their acting more than money like Bollywood. Only Aamir Salman and sometimes Ajay and Shah rukh khan is my favourite. They act very honest. I don’t like Ranbir I don’t like Akshaye. He is doing Prakash raaj role in kadhgam in remake Insaan. Am sure because of money instead if good and top actor in bollywood why did not do Srikant or ravi teja role in the movie. He likes money and multistar roles. Big actor of bollywood if doing south remake let them do our Big star roles not doing Prakaash raj that gunda in heropanti and singham type of role. But look Salman and Shah rukk doing big star roles like kamal Hassan Mohanlaal Sir Nagarjuna type of role. My favrite movie in remake is dabbang singham chennai express
