Shah Rukh Khan reigned supreme at the box office on Wednesday, proving once again that he is one of the biggest crowd-pullers the industry has ever seen. The competition was pretty much decimated right from the morning shows on Wednesday, with Raees selling more than double the number of tickets as compared to Kaabil.
The film has collected Rs 20.43 crore on Wednesday, becoming the first film of 2017 to cross the 20 crore mark on a single day. It has also become the highest grosser of the year in just one day, even though only ‘Ok Jaanu’ has released so far this year.
A 20 crore plus total is a solid base for Raees to grow on Thursday (holiday for Republic Day). As per estimates from the morning shows today, the business of Raees has shown growth of around 15-20% compared to the morning shows yesterday – which is excellent because the film was already running at very high levels on Wednesday morning. But what remains to be seen is what kind of impact the cricket match has on business in the evening.
Muslim-dominated areas have performed phenomenally well for Raees, with the business comparable to Post-Eid releases at places. Shah Rukh Khan is the king of the West Bengal circuit, so it came as no surprise when business was in a different league altogether for Raees. South was extraordinary too, the gap between the two films was expected to be closer here, but Raees was leading by a fairly huge margin (1.96 times average) throughout the day.
The first day business is at around the same level as SRK’s 2015 Christmas release ‘Dilwale’, so we will be closely following the trend of the two films to see if Raees can surpass the lifetime business of the Rohit Shetty directed film.
If Kaabil 1st day is not 10.4 crore then HNY 1st day is only 36 crore.

Tuesday reviews are paid reviews. Now if we considered all critics reviews average ratings of both movies are 3.04 . Kaabil on So , Raees has better rating than Kaabil because Tuesday reviews are paid reviews. So, reviews are also positive for Raees and mixed for kaabil.

This is not a review but some of my personal experiences or thought after watching movie Raees..
As some of you know , i am a die hard SRK fan for a long time….
But i am turning a little rude here…My fello SRK ians please forgive me…as this is only my thoughts and people may have different taste.
From the trailer onwards it was clear that Raees gonna be a mass film and not for the family audiance. For a mass film the introduction scene should be a little more massy just like a typical south film; when necessary, the hero Show up…scope for whistle and cheer…
In Raees he just showed up.
Raees try to joke with friends and having fun…Though the comic part was pathetic.
Don Raees cries like a baby for losing his money and stock…
Omg that crying scene was intolerable…
I don’t remember such a deep cry even in his melodramatic films…For a powerful Don, that was a little Overacting.
The action scenes was better in comparison with many other films.. But on a massy film it should have been more imaginative; some slow motion movements and punchy background music would have been added just like any vijay or a sallu film..But in here the director was just realistic and that was not so appealing .
The romantic part was misfit and was forced for the sake of Romance.
On the story part it is a biographical film, so the director don’t have much right to divert the storyline . Overall the film lacks that thrilling moments . And this is not one of the movies that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It’s just a mixture of different plots..
So overall movie was just boring to watchable category for me.
I am just pointing out some negatives , there are many positive aspects too. SRK s Don Avathar and some dialogue delivery was fantastic.
As the box office performance concerned SRK is one of the top crowd puller in the industry today.The first day boxoffice performance of Raees and Kaabil itself says a lot about the stardom and clearly shows that the three Khans stand way ahead of rest of the actors.
As a die hard SRK fan me too want the movie to cross the 200 crore mark and become another blockbuster for SRK. But I am very much disappointed now . I think the movie will not sustain long enough to cross 150 or 200 crore cause the neutral and family audiance will give it a miss.
So this is my few words about the movie Raees. I am sure there are many SRK ians here who will strongly disagree with me and I believe they have every right to..

Lifetime under 140cr, mark my works it is avery ordinary film.Srk fans can all thumb me down but remains fact these film is not as entertaining as Dilwale, the film is scoring the power of srk and huge promotion for almost 1.5years, even sunny leone has contributed as alot of tharkis are spoted dancing to laila o laila. Watch out for the big drop on saturday.
