The producers of S.S. Rajamouli’s 2009 Telugu film ‘Magadheera’ have filed a case in the Hyderabad court seeking to stall the release of the Dinesh Vijan’s upcoming film ‘Raabta’ which also has the reincarnation angle. And like we mentioned in the trailer page, the visuals of the film seemed quite similar to the Rajamouli blockbuster.
‘Magadheera’ was a love story between Ram Charan and Kajal Aggarwal, set in different time zones. ‘Raabta’, which features Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon, too is said to have a similar storyline.
The Hyderabad court will hear the case on June 1 to decide the release of ‘Raabta’, which is currently scheduled to release in theatres on June 9.
‘Magadheera’ was the highest grossing Telugu film of all-time, until the two Bahubali films shattered its records in the two Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
haha south indian film industry seems to hv lost their mind post bahubali success. remaking or adapting from novel is such a common thing in every industry from holly to bolly to tolly..y on earth will seasoned filmmakers like Dinesh & T series do it the illegal way when buying rights hardly costs 3-4cr??
meanwhile I heard they r remaking jolly llb2.. south regularly remakes bolly films as well as films from other south industries but only when bolly does the same it gets bashed. sallu is called remake king even though wanted & bodyguard were remade in 4 south languages before hindi version happened . That pawan kalyan became a big star with Gabbar Singh that was remake of salmans original film Dabangg
Anyways bolly is the favourite punching bag for jobless morons. till the time public comes in big numbers to watch our movies I such accusations will remain useless
But fans of Jr. NTR and Mahesh Babu claim that Srimanthudu and Janatha Garage are the highest Non-Bahubali grossing Telugu movies. I’d love to know if there is a website like BOI for Telugu/Tamil movies as well.

Meanwhile Dangal is became the highest grosser worldwide, though Bahubali is still remain the bigger blockbuster but Dangal achievement in China is unbelievable. Set for 1000cr in china. Waiting for your article Indicine

yes the plot is dittoo same,magadeera was a wonderful film with immense repeat value(because of Rajamouli i mean).But raabta is not looking like magadheera ,Its not matching the same scale ,which rajamouli maintained in his film

Kriti Sanon had spoiled a long time for this movie, she has got talent and her good looks could have fetched her much better films… She has been out of sight for so long that it’ll be difficult for her to comeback… She needs a film like ‘Dear Zindagi’ to justify her skills and screen presence…

For those stupid idiots claiming everyone is remaking movies. There is a thing called copyright. People remake movies only after remaking the copyrights of a movie or a song. You guys should know that as the biggest superstar of Bollywood career is based on remaking south movies.
From the trailer Raabta looks very similar to Magadheera . On a individual point of view Raabta is looking pretty Substandard in terms of content and visual appeal . There is absolutely no buzz and the songs have failed except IK Vaari Aa to some extent . The trailer did not receive immense appreciation from people and I will be very surprised if Raabta emerges successful at the Box Office . !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@arjun:u are right upto some extent but not fully.pawan Kalyan was a superstar right from khusi movie ,not through gabbar Singh.gabbar Singh became his highest grosser but he was already a superstar before that.
@Ak its not about BOI but domestic business always matter for big success. Bahubali remain the biggest grosser of domestic market but Dangal also achieved the unthinkable. Frankly speaking for me Dangal success is probably bigger as it scored huge in non- traditional market like China that too after clashing a Hollywood biggie and topple the market from last 14 days.
Dangal is biggest from Bollywood and it also saved prestige of Bollywood during BB storm.
I have watched Magdheera thrice.
I just watched trailer of Raabta. Raabta is scene by scene copy of Magdheera.
