This comparison is between the last two Diwali release – Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year and Salman Khan’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.
Both films released on the day after Diwali puja, with PRDP getting around 10% more screens. Ticket prices were comparable at most centres, but the all India average ticket price of PRDP was slightly higher than Happy New Year.
In 4 days, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo leads with Rs 129.77 crore, while Happy New Year collected Rs 123.87 crore during the same period. The advantage for PRDP was the extended 4 day weekend.

It will surely be a Super Hit and set to cross all movies of lungi pur !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Blockbuster is not possible. The concept of PRDP was good but treatment is out dated, still a good enough movie to watch with family and siblings but not with friends. Fans of Maya memsaab please stay away, it is not your cup of tea !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
