Filmmaker Karan Johar was all praise for Salman Khan during the ‘1000 crore Blockbuster film’ session at the FICCI Frames here in Mumbai.
When a reporter asked Karan the secret behind Salman’s success, the ace-director said “Salman’s star power goes beyond his films. People go to see a film just because it has Salman Khan. He is more than just a superstar. He is a benchmark of humanity”
“Salman has delivered 5 back-to-back blockbuster films. It would be a dream for anyone to have him work for them. My debut film (Kuch Kuch Hota Hai) had him. I have offered many films to him..” Karan added.
Well, with upcoming films like ‘Mental’, ‘Kick’, a film each with Prabhu Deva and Sooraj Barjatya, Salman’s dates are blocked for 2013.
Karan’s dream of working with the superstar is unlikely to be fulfilled this year. Having said that, there are strong rumours of Johar producing a Salman Khan film directed by Rohit Shetty.

Dear Karan, ppl dont go to his films to watch bhai but to see the item girls which are present in all of his films… its a fact.
If ppl went to see saaman bhai, then where were these people before 2010 ?? Before 2010, any Saaman film which did not have an item song bombed at the box-office. Harsh reality but true reality.
I am not a big fan of Salman but I think in this modern fast life, everyone wants to take a break from daily run for bread and butter. Everyone wants to take rest, relax and get entertainment. Salman’s movies are giving this entertainment to larger mass and this in return is paying him off. According to me this, one of the main reason for giving consistently hits after hits in recent time. His charity work through Being Human has benefited many and touched many hearts. I sincerely hope he gets more success in life and continues to help poor and needy people of our country.

Karan Johar’s debut film “KKHH” was ATBB only bcoz of Salman Khan otherwise it would have ended with hit or superhit tag only without Salman bcoz Salman’s entry paced the movie and made interesting and given proper ending.Karan has not given any other ATBB after KKHH and wants to work with Salman again to give his 2nd ATBB which Srk-Karan combo failed to give in their last 4-5 movies.
@navin. Tell me one thing dude ?. When films like welcome, singh is king got bad reviews from critics and became blockbuster. No body told films ran coz of akshay kumar. Ppl went to see just akshay kumar. Same was the case with OSO and RDBJ. Those films were mindless films still ran with packed house. Then why this double standard with salman ?. i have no complain but still curious to know. I hope u will kill my curiosity

Year 2008 Salman Khan’s performance God Tussi Great Ho-13.60 crore, Heroes-13.23 crore, Yuvraaj-16.95 crore . Total = 43.78 crore. John Abraham’s Dostana= 44.42 crore. Akshay Kumar never had that kind of situation. This is my humble request to people like RGV,before mocking Akshay for Special Chabbis,pls think about Salman in 2008. You may tell whatever you like if Akshay face a situation when sum of his three films do not reach the total of John Abraham’s one film in one single year. Pls remember Saif, Ranbir, Hrithik,SRK & Hrithik never had to face this kind of situation.
I guess the answer for the question of why people talk of going to see only Salman, is the 100 cr + of movie Ready. It didn’t had any top actress, nor a great songs, except 1, no great script, no hyped up promotion and yet crossed 100 cr.
The same film, which the multi-star cast, hyped film JTHJ couldn’t break the records of, yet.
That’s the magic, people just went, because it had SALMAN.
All other actors needs good songs or script or famous co-actor, big promotions etc., to give people options to watch it. Salman needs none.

@star Sunny Leones item number in CE will be titled ‘bhai roxXxXx’ plus on the side of the train there will be a big life size poster of Dabangg Khan to keep the single screen audience entertained and Sunny will be dancing on top of the train with deepika shaking her long legs whilst buddha srk drives the Chennai Depress expressway train. :-D
