No Oscar Nomination for Ranbir Kapoor’s Barfi

BarfiDirector Anurag Basu’s Barfi!, India’s official Oscar entry, has failed to qualify for the ‘Best foreign language film’ category for the 85th Academy Awards.

The film, featuring Ranbir Kapoor as a deaf and mute boy and Priyanka Chopra as an autistic girl, was a runaway hit at the box office.

71 films from across the globe were sent for the Oscars, out of which nine have been shortlisted, which will further compete to make it to the final five nominations.

  • So its still a dream for indians to win oscar. Well, it’s has to be expected considering the quality of bollywood movies.

  • I don’t know what you guys see in Agneepath. Seriously, it was the worst acting by Hrithik. He just didn’t have the enough fire power in his eyes. Total waste movie. The agneepath of Amitabh was way too brilliant.

    I guess they should have used Salman instead. Hrithik is just too sophisticated for such roles.
