Actor John Abraham has replaced Akshay Kumar in two big films – the sequel to his 2007 blockbuster ‘Welcome’ and the third part in the popular ‘Hera Pheri’ series. However, John has said that there is no animosity between them and they continue to be good friends.
“When I signed ‘Welcome Back’, I called up Akshay and I gave him the news first. He was very happy and said, ‘It’s a great film to do’. During ‘Hera Pheri 3’, I told him about it and he is a friend, we have worked together before. We are good friends. There is no animosity between us.”
‘Hera Pheri 3’ was announced at an event yesterday. The film, directed by Neeraj Vora, will featured Abhishek Bachchan, Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty.
When asked about his long break from films – John was missing from the silver screen in 2014, his last release was ‘Madras Cafe’ – the actor said “I act in films and I also produce films. My production house makes different kind of films, and as an actor, I enjoy certain films. I loved ‘Hera Pheri’ and ‘Welcome’, so I’m working in the new films. It was a long break, and I am okay with long breaks.”
I hv heard john and akki often telling in interviews that they r very close friends for last 10yrs so I don’t think akki will b upset with john replacing him in sequels to his blockbusters.btw if welcome back and hera pheri3 work at the bo then it could make john a much bigger star so superstar akki being johns friend must b very happy for him
bcoz of Anil kapoor and Nana Patekar cant say about Welcome Back without Akshay sir, but definitely Hera Phera 3 will be flop without Akshay Sir
John is a good-hearted person,i don’t think there is any kind of rift between him and akki.
Hope he does justice with his roles in both Welcome Back and HeraPheri 3.
Akshay is hundred times bigger hero as compared to john
they r good frens but john 10 year experience cant match akshay 21+ years experience in world of bolllywood
its very difficult to replace a popular known and loved character….john facing some serious issue while selcting for the projects…he did race 2 and replaced akshay khanna who was just terrific in part 1..he is always best for a thriller and ambiguous movies…..later on john did housefull and now trying to replace akshay…why john …why are you challenging ur capability :p ?? play safe
I hope akshay would be a oart of both the films although john is also a brilliant actor
John is at his best when he does quite intense movies like Madras Cafe or New York as he was excellent in both these films.But the problem is he can’t outdo Akshay in comedy.Both the movies may make money because of its prequel but will surely not be a cult classic
Hera Pheri 3 will not same fun without Akshay. I dont think John can do comedy even as half as Akki. He is too macho or rough to play a comic role !!!!!!!!!!!

…yeah he shows how high he has placed AKshay! Its not an easy task to do a sequel of one of Bollywood most sucessful and established star!! Also Akki will not have any problem with that…he is a BIG BOY!! been there…seen all…

I heard somewhere that the producers of Hera Pheri again wanted to cast akshay kumar with sunil & paresh but Akshay demanded a whooping 70cr. rupees for Hera Pheri 3, that is why they casted John & Abhishek…..
there were reports that after the release of Housefull 2 there was a fallout b/w Akshay & John & they were not on talking terms was it true ,
