Nimrat Kaur to play lawyer in Mohammad Azharuddin biopic

Nimrat Kaur, who played the role of a housewife in Ritesh Batra’s acclaimed film ‘The Lunchbox’, will be seen playing the character of a lawyer in Anthony D’Souza upcoming biopic on former India cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin.

While Emraan Hashmi plays Azhar in the film, Prachi Desai has been cast to play his first wife Naureen. The makers are still in search of an actress to play the role of Sangeeta Bijlani, Azhar’s second wife.

There are also reports that Nimrat’s character in the film will be fictitious, unlike all other actors who will be playing real characters.

The Azhar biopic is likely to release in 2016.

Emraan Hashmi death hoax spreads on Facebook
Rumors of the actor’s alleged demise gained traction on Monday after a ‘R.I.P. Emraan Hashmi’ Facebook page attracted nearly one million of ‘likes’. Those who read the ‘About’ page were given a believable account of the Indian actor’s passing:
“At about 11 a.m. ET on Monday (February 16, 2015), our beloved actor Emraan Hashmi passed away. Emraan Hashmi was born on March 24, 1979 in Mumbai. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page.”
Hundreds of fans immediately started writing their messages of condolence on the Facebook page, expressing their sadness that the talented 35-year-old actor was dead. And as usual, Twittersphere was frenzied over the death hoax.
Where as some trusting fans believed the post, others were immediately skeptical of the report, perhaps learning their lesson from the huge amount of fake death reports emerging about celebrities over recent months. Some pointed out that the news had not been carried on any major Indian network, indicating that it was a fake report, as the death of an actor of Emraan Hashmi’s stature would be major news across networks.
A recent pollconducted for the Celebrity Post shows that a large majority (81%) of respondents think those Emraan Hashmi death rumors are not funny anymore.
Emraan Hashmi Death Hoax Dismissed Since Actor Is ‘Alive And Well’
On Tuesday (February 17) the actor’s reps officially confirmed that Emraan Hashmi is not dead. “He joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax. He’s still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet,” they said.
Some fans have expressed anger at the fake report saying it was reckless, distressing and hurtful to fans of the much loved actor. Others say this shows his extreme popularity across the globe.

    1) fastest odi century
    2) highest runs overall in odi
    3) he is the one who promoted sachin as an opener
    4) he is the one who used sachin as match winning bowler ex hero cup final over
    5) he was thebone who taught indian team how to win
    6) suddenly something happen n noone speaks abt him
people like me hate him due to some things..
but it is unclear what happened exactly, he ia the only person involved. ..so many questions are there….
I hope emraan wil give justice to the role…

  • Not a gud decision nimrat. U should be utilising ur talent in bad films with crap actors like arjun kapoor ‘s tevar who is good for nothing. Atleast it will make that flop dirty elephant’s film watchable. Emraan is calibred enough to make a good shot in Azhar. Go Nimrat Go!! Please add some flair to already BLUNT arjun kapoor films. Hahaha…
