Movie on 26/11 Mumbai Attacks goes on floors today

Ram Gopal Varma is all set to begin shooting for his most ambitious movie, based on the 26/11 terrorists attacks that killed 164 people and injured more than 300.

The director made the announcement on twitter, calling the film the most important of his career “Today is the 1st day of shooting of the most important film of my career ‘The attacks of 26/11’.

He went on to explain why “That’s because it’s the most important event that ever happened.. if not in scale and damage and tragedy just in sheer complexity it beats even 9/11”

Revealing further details on the film, RGV said “I want to thank all the officers who have given me unimaginable inputs and insights into this event which is making this film possible. The attacks of 26/11 will detail every aspect of the carnage beginning with the terrorists taking over Amar solankis trawler `Kuber’. Its being done with a completely new cast and is going to be shot in languages in which the actual people spoke that is Urdu Hindi English and Marathi. The film is primarily meant for an international release and is being made at a budget of around 40 crore”

The film looks promising, we just hope he gets the camera movements and angels right. Some of his last few films have been good, but the way it was shot completely ruined the experience.

We wish the best!

  • RGV is a very talented director in dark subjects..i like his fiew flicks..agree with u indicine that camera angles just ruin the experience, it’s not that different camera angles are used for necessary scences, but he uses it through out the film which become boring.

    • Waqas, watch his last movie ‘Not a love story’ and you’ll know what we are talking about. And yes, he is a talented director and sometimes makes good films. Sarkar, Company, Rakhta Charitra were brilliant.
