The first installment of our “most anticipated films of the third quarter” list had films like Chennai Express and Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai Dobaara. Now, let’s look at the next five Hindi films we are looking forward to in the third quarter of 2013.
Madras Cafe (August 23 2013): Shoojit Sircar delivered the smash hit Vicky Donor last year and Madras Cafe (previously titled Jaffna) has us excited for a variety of reasons. It deals with the sensitive issue of LTTE and terrorism and has John Abraham donning the role of an intelligence officer. John has a smart brain when it comes to producing films, and we wouldn’t be surprised if the film manages to make a sufficient dent in the collections of OUATIM and Satyagraha. Released amidst all the biggies in August, Madras Cafe is certainly not to be underestimated.
Satyagraha (August 30 2013) : While Prakash Jha hasn’t delivered a Hit film in the last two years, much is expected from Satygraha because of the cast he has assembled. He is back with his protégés Ajay Devgn, Manoj Bajpai and Arjun Rampal. Kareena Kapoor Khan also adds some real acting power to the film. To top it all off, Amitabh Bachchan’s character is based on Anna Hazare. The trailer has disappointed a lot of people, but we are hoping the film wouldn’t.
Ungli (September 20 2013): Rensil D’Silva’s sophomore directorial venture boasts of a very interesting cast – Sanjay Dutt, Emraan Hashmi, Randeep Hooda, and Kangna Ranaut. Not much is known about this film, except for the fact that it is supposed to be a thriller of some kind. Dharma Productions’ attachment with the film makes us think that this will surprise a few people. Rensil made a confident debut as a director with Kurbaan but Ungli has to be a step up for him.
Shuddh Desi Romance (September 13 2013): Maneesh Sharma directed the smart sleeper hit Band Baaja Baaraat and followed it up with the disappointing Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl. He will be looking to bounce back with Shuddh Desi Romance (SDR). Jaideep Sahni wrote Chak De India, Rocket Singh, and Khosla Ka Ghosla, which are now considered cult classics. We are delighted he is back as a writer. Sushant Singh Rajput made a fantastic debut with Kai Po Che and will be looking to cement his place in the Industry. Parineeti Chopra, the serial heart-stealer, is also back. All these factors have made us really excited about the film. And oh, the trailers of SDR are really cool. Check them out, if you haven’t already.
Phata Poster Nikla Hero (September 20 2013): Shahid Kapoor, who was supposed to do Shuddh Desi Romance, ended up doing this Rajkumar Santoshi directed film instead. People who have seen snippets from the film are very confident about PPNH. The music is also expected to be a huge hit looking at the pedigree of Pritam and Tips (the co-producers). Ileana D’cruz will be giving Shahid Kapoor able company in PPNH. We are hoping Shahid is back with a bang and shows the world his true talent.
There are a few more films which didn’t make our 10 film list, but we will be keeping a close eye on them – Ship of Theseus, Issaq and Zanjeer. Now, tell us which film are you looking forward to the most and which film(s) do you think will set the Box Office on fire? Get involved!
@hritic Good news for salman fans mental will release 25dec and d3 will release 2014. Bhai jaan is back this christmas and next eid will create the history of 6 and 7 blockbustes in a row.
rocket singh a cult classic ??? WTH ?? indicine team, that movie was a flop, no cult classic.
As for the most awaited movie among these, it is easily Satyagraha, because it has the superstar of the era Big b with fantastix actors like Ajay Devgn and Manoj Bajpai. It will surely be a treat. Madras Cafe also looks interesting. SDR may be somthing different. PPNH is just another romantic comedy, i don’t understand why girls are so mad for romantic and romantic comedies ?? they have become stale now, we want something different and new.
Krrish 3 !!!
Younger generation actors need to step it up… CMON SHAHID! :D
waiting for dhoom3 and krrish3
@Romance Express lol, we have seen your predictions. 300 cr – Ra.One. 225 cr – JTHJ and now 200 cr – CE… hahahahahaha…
@nexus : CE will be departed out of all cinemas or theatres in 40 days !!!!!!
@Romance Express :From where did you get that fake news? It is neither confirmed by makers nor from reliable resources like India FM.
@belle i don’t pridict ra1 col 300cr but i hope jthj cross 200cr mark, but the film get bad word of mouth, bal shaheb thakre death, and clash with massala film sos almost ate 40% business, jthj is a class film and underperformed in ss. Before the release of jthj, i thougt it will be rnbdj type film but i failed.
But don’t worry brother when an average content film yjhd col 190cr then ce wom is good the ce will sure col 235cr otherwise min 180cr due to solo release in holiday.
Don’t underestimate the power of shahrukh khan
