Mohenjo Daro has shown decent growth in business on Day 2 at the box office – which basically means two things. One, the film hasn’t faced complete rejection, a section of the audience is liking the film. Two, the collections are still way too low to even hint some sort of a turnaround. From such a low level, Mohenjo Daro needed big growth of 30-40%, which unfortunately hasn’t come.
Once again, it goes to show the extent to which the clash has hurt the film. With a solo release, Mohenjo Daro would have probably managed to collect around 13-14 crore on Friday and a decent 10-15% growth on Saturday, would’ve ensured a 30 crore plus total in two days – as compared to less than 20 crore that it has now collected.
Without the clash, the film could have completely avoided the negativity and also the general perception that Rustom is a better film.
It’s still difficult to see where Mohenjo Daro goes from here. The film should collect around 30 crore in 3 days and 42-44 crore by the end of its extended 4-day weekend.

Tomorrow is going to be our nation’s Independence Day and 4 years of EK THA TIGER. ETT was the first movie to cross 25 and 30 crores on a single day which no movie has done till now. EK THA TIGER was the fastest film to cross 100 crores; i.e. in 5 days breaking the record of his own Bodyguard which did in 7 days. Ek Tha Tiger was the first film of Salman with yrf and Kabir Khan. ETT was also the fastest to cross 150 crores, i.e. in 9 days. ETT just fall 3 crores short of becoming. HGOAT and just 0.34 crores short of doing 200 crores due to Yrf. They give decreased collections for Ek Tha Tiger to entering 200 crore club and becoming ATHG because of their huge jealousy against Salman Khan. If SRGay or Aamir Tingu was in ETT then YRF collections should cross 3 Idiots record but their favourite star at that time haven’t even touch 130 crores which even Akshay Kumar has did, so they play to Salman a very dirty game.
Now coming back to topic, Mohenjo Daro suffered due to Hrithik’s ego. He thinks that he is bigger than Salman Khan which he is not. Just Salman promotions to Rustom, Mohenho Daro failed to cross double digit in opening day. This is power of Salman. Many his fans like EDX POWER NOT KHANS and DESTROYER OF KHANS say that Salman is only due to Eid and if Hrithik came on Eid then records will shatter. Then Hrithik releases his movie on a pure normal holiday? Mohenjo Daro was Independence Day release and clash with Rustom shows no one is scared to clash with him, Bang Bang got 5 back to back holidays which was better than release date of Kick, whose first four days were Pre-Eid. Clash with Haider won’t count as Haider was non-commercial niche thriller film which got 60% lesser screens than Bang Bang. Krishh3 was a EDX release. Agneepath was Republic Day release. His Diwali release Krishh3 did only 178 crores, 244 is manipulated

Mohenjo Daro. Basis concept of movie is archaic. Beaten to done with. Hero, Heroine, Villain and his son, a Village and lots of peasants. Their is no human connect. Its a boring movie and that also way too long. Ashutosh should take a sabbatical and re-invent himself. Come up with fresh topical ideas which have relevance and should connect with the audience. I mean why anybody would go along with his family, buy hugely expensive movie tickets and watch something which is boring, ordinary and offers nothing new except a name. However, all said and done Rhitik sincerity is out of question and impeccable.

being a salman khan fan i watch both rustom and mahenjodaro …being a neutral fan i give rustom 1star out of 5 and give mahenjodaro 3.5 star from 5…….first thing that goes against mahenjodaro is its trailer..in the 1st trailer screen very good screen like fight with 2 giants and when hrithik running through boat and all the river are floating should have been added…

It is really sad that those involved stooped to such level to sabotage MD in order to have Raees get a solo spot. I have not seen either movie and have no intentions of doing do and therefore will not judge on someones hear say. My reason the bribery and corruption that went on behind MD has sour me for both. Unfortunately an innocent Akki got caught in the middle no fault of his own as he kept to his promtional plans and it worked. However, one feels sad that HR had to suffer because of selfish people. He should not postpone Khabil even if it means losing the clash which I dont think he will because the Almighty has already put things in place.
