Michael Jackson dead!

In one of the biggest shockers of the year, The King of POP, Michael Jackson has died due to Cardiac Arrest.

The pop star who turned 50 last year had been admitted to a hospital in a state of coma, after he collapsed at his home in Los Angeles. CNN later confirmed his death, putting fans around the world in a state of shock.

We at Indicine cover the entire story as it unfolds, read on..

Michael Jackson, born on August 29th 1958, was the 7th child of the Jackson family who made his debut in the music scene at the age of 11 with his brothers, as the member of the Jackson 5. At the age of 13, he made his solo debut with “Got to be There”. Then on, there was no looking back for the pop star, who was fondly called “The King of Pop” by fans all over the world.

His biggest solo album was the Thriller in 1982 which remains, till this very day, the best selling album of all times selling over 108 million copies (rough estimate, could be much more). In comparison, the second highest selling album ever is Back in Black, selling just over 42 million copies!!

Other best-selling Michael Jackson albums include – HIStory in 1995, Dangerous in 1991, BAD in 1987 and Off the Wall in 1979.

Jackson also holds multiple Guinness World Records; which include the following

  • Biggest Selling Album Of All Time (Thriller)
  • Greatest Audience (133 million viewers watched Super Bowl XXVII on June 31st 1993)
  • Great Entertainer of All Time
  • Most Successful Concert Series (504,000 people watched him perform for seven nights at Wembley Stadium, London)
  • Most Grammy Awards (8 in one year)
  • Largest Contracts ($890 million with Sony Music)
  • The Bad Tour brought in revenue exceeding $124 million during 1987-1988.

He WAS and IS the biggest entertainer of all times… Rest In Peace Michael Jackson, the world will miss you.

The Bollywood Film Industries reaction to the tragic news, coming up soon..

Update: Shahrukh Khan very recently said, he considered the music icon as the “ultimate star”..

Update: Mallika Sherawat has posted a tweet on twitter “R.I.P. MJ and FF :-(”

Update: Farah Khan “I have just landed here to meet Shahrukh Khan. I reached the hotel and got to know about the very sad news. It is still to sink in that he is no more. I had a won an award at the a awards ceremony and Michael Jackson was also getting an award for his humanitarian work. The organisers knew how crazy I was for him so they did take me backstage to meet him. I have a picture with him which I will cherish all my life. I told him that I am choreographer and its just because of him. I thought I would retire after I choreograph Michael Jackson”

Update: Gayathri Patel who made her debut in Lets Dance “When someone called me at 4 am this morning to tell me about it, for some time I just couldn’t understand what the person was talking. It was unbelievable. It took me a while to gather myself and realise that the Michael Jackson was no more. This is heart-breaking and a loss to performers worldwide. I was so excited to hear about his upcoming tour and now we’ll never get to see the legend sliding across the stage doing his classic moonwalk. In fact, there was a rumour that he’d invented a new moonwalk for the upcoming shows. Michael may not perform ever again, but his music, style and legacy will live on”

Update: AR Rahman on Jackson – I am shocked at the untimely passing away of Michael Jackson, one of the greatest musicians of our time. I am yet to find an artist with that energy, perfection and vision. I met him personally after the Oscars in Los Angeles and we vibed very well. He said that he loved India and the Indian people. He said he heard good things about me and he was praising the chord progression of Jai Ho’s chorus. He was bursting with energy and told me that every dance move he did, came from his soul and did a five second stunning example. It was like a lightning strike

He asked me to compose a unity anthem on the likes of We are the World for him. I nodded in awe! He introduced me to his three lovely kids. The kids told him “I love you dad” and he replied “I love you more” as a proud father. I wished him well for his concerts and he said “God Bless you”. After hearing the shocking news I wished it was another rumour which would fade away soon. It took me time to believe that he is no more. I hope all of us value people’s existence more and respect them when they are alive. LIFE IS SHORT! Artists and their art live for ever. Jai Ho, MJ! We love you for your music, regardless of all the controversies!

  • Meela, you are acting like my grandma. Get off the web, and go into deep spiritual meditation of SRK.

  • For one if u were a regular blogger on this site – u would have known that I hate SKR with a passion. I am an Aamir Khan fan. Secondly Bejul is only 12 years old and not me. I thought u would have picked that up but I guess u are not that bright after all. Thirdly u are an arrogant prick………….take that dick head.

In future before u make anymore of your amazing assumptions – make sure u know what u talking about. I was actually on your side when I told u not to argue with 12 year olds, cos they are 2 immature to understand anything or on the other hand they think they know everthing.

I enjoyed your ealier response to Bejul – when u gave her the facts regarding MJ condition. I thought it was pretty insight full….. Now I think u are just an ass………….and if I have spelt any words incorrectly on this blog…………….well then “see the worry in my eyes” cos I give a rats shit what u think……… Walking encyclopedia of dumb ass facts.

    With all my love.

  • Meela – Just because I’m 12 years old it doesnt mean that 12 year olds are stupid! Have some sense Meela!

  • vin

iam a michael jackson fan myself, and i know he was a good human being, pure at heart and a good soul, albeit a bit crazy in the head.

but your comments my friend, and your inability to understand what people are saying, is sure proof that you my friend, are an idiot. yep, an idiot.

    seriously, no joke.

and check your spelling first before commenting on others spelling.

now, once i have come out of grieving for michael jackson where i feel i have lost a part of me with his passing away, i will come back to this page and let you all know how i felt in the last few days on hearing this sad news.

bejul – if you are 12 years old, what are you doing on this site ?

  • bejul

this blog is not for 12 year olds. its for adults. please seek parental guidance, or go to a blog meant for children.
there are a lot of bad filthy words used by a lot of people, its not a place for children. so what are you doing here in the first place ? its not for children.

  • mayyyyn.. i loved that dude… sure he made some wrong decisions but he was good at heart and better on that dance floor in front of that mic.
but this is what i don’t understand.. mj is dead, so are yew guys bringin out his wrongdoings? and comparing him wif.. nobodies? for gawd sake he got a world record fer the highest charity donor in history and still noone beat him… he refused to sell 500 seats to every single of his shows cause he saves them for unfortunate kids.. 10% of the money of every one of his shows goes to cancer kids… aamir, sharukh this are actor… just actors… what have they given to the society? full respect for them though
awful how ppl ppl are comparing mj wif anybody now… ppl make mistakes… mj made them too, though he’s always gonna be known as the man that reached the slums to richess of the world… and actually made anyone care about the planet earth

Rest in enternal peace mj… moonwalk all the way to heaven.. loved yew mayn

If yew wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself, and then make a change!

  • I LOVE U MJ……world without ur music is like a hell……………………………

the whole world will miss u a LOT

n ur music always remind us ur ultimate and marvelous work which cant be done by any person in the world

    I LOVE U MJ

  • Meela, the English language does not have a word called “shink” in it! But thanks for telling my your age and the size of your brain, now I completely understand the reason for your incompetence.

Bejul, your ignorance makes me laugh hahaha. I have nothing to say to you (read my previous post) except that you should’ve picked a diff language as ur first, cuz this one isn’t working out all the well.

Fathiya, one of the most beautiful woman by the name of Lisa Presley (daughter of Elvis) also MJ’s ex-wife said MJ rocked in bed. So if you think he gay that obviously means you are uninformed of the facts, yet again, a point that I had established earlier. I don’t know about your country or culture but in US people don’t go to doctors to get injected with diseases. Name me one medication that can turn people into white. I’ve listed the drugs MJ was taking, but you are just talking from thin air. “some kind of disease”, and “dangerous one”, “dosage of it to turn his skin into white”. Gloves were his trademark, not to hide his hands, but to dance. It was part of his appeal. And then you “this world is crazy”, I think you live in this world too, so have a bit more self respect. This world has some psychiatrists if you have self esteem issues. If Michael is crazy, then what do you call a man (SRK) that copies him? Crazy wanna be? And you worship a crazy wanna be, what does that make you? Piece of advice don’t pick law your carrier, you wouldn’t be able to convince anyone of anything.

And why would you want to believe in a God that gives you diseases? I think religion makes people ignorant, you are the prime example.

  • just another typical american born indo desi lol !

    and

    kapil gupta

take it easy guys. you two have clearly misunderstood what meela was actually saying. and it is also probable that spelling mistakes do occur during typing. so just relax.

iam still grieving from michael jacksons death. a part of me has actually died. i still can’t believe he is gone. somehow the world seems like a completely different place now.

just watched his funeral on telly. horrible feeling came over me. i just could not bear to watch it. the whole death thing seems so bizarre, strange, and surreal. i just get this feeling there was something spiritual going on ?? some dark evil spirits took his life ?? dont know why i feel that way, but my intuition tells me this. i can just sense it. whenever i feel that way it generally comes to be true.

i still cannot believe he is gone though.

the world has lost a genius and a modern day icon, the like of which the world will never ever see again. and the world is a sadder place without michael.

all these silly people who misjudged him and all the false allegations, lies they put on him that ruined his life, were ultimately responsible for his death. people killed him. they destroyed his life and turned him into a penniless pauper. nasty elements of society, money grabbing immoral idiots ruined michael jacksons life and ultimately killed him.

michael was the best entertainer there ever was on planet earth. he was a good man, a pure soul. the world and its people killed him. its the worlds loss.

may his soul rest in peace.

iam a tough man, but i feel like crying everytime i think of michael. not too sure how iam going to come over this.

meela, good to hear from you again. hope you are well.

  • Thnx indicine for deleting that horrible comment from vin!! shows how much u care about what ur viewers read!
Spiderman…thnx for explaining what meela meant!
Meela…..Yes u r dreaming…..cause people didn’t pay to go to the memorial service! in america memorial service is not to make money out of!! and FYI there were 1100 tickets given out free! so next time please confirm news b4 u go out making judgments!!!!…..and “chow”=))!

  • Hi

Spiderman thanks for you comments… I know how you feel. I feel the same emptiness eversince I heard of Michael’s death.

Also watched the broadcast of the Farewell to Michael last night. It was so touching, especially to see how passionately people spoke about him and all that he has done. And from what everyone said the one thing they all agreed on was that he was the greatest entertainer ever and that he loved his fans! I especially liked what Brooke Shields had to say… she gave us the more down-to-earth side of Michael…

But when Usher sang, it was so sincere and heartfelt… I had to cry!

  • Lu…..that was so sad and i am sure that Michael would’ve felt really good when all these people had said such good things about him when he was alive!! but don’t u guys think its stupid of these people to talk about stupid things when something so serious has happened!!

  • Hi all, I was terribly shocked and devastated when I had heard that our dearest POP Singer Michael Jackson is no more. In fact the next day when I tuned into a radio channel in india, the anchor was saying that there is a sad news that Michael Jackson is no more with us. I was terribly shocked and instantly remembered all his biggest hits like BEAT IT, THRILLER, BAD, etc.

Also news has it that his funeral on 7 july, the coffin was without his body. I feel it is utter nonsense. Also rumours were there that not MJ but a duplicate MJ has died.

These rumours show us how big a person MJ was that even people are saying his death is fake. I don’t take any news seriously especially after the death of a person, to talk about fake deaths and all.

I feel writing any length of a tribute will be very less for this legend.

  • Fathiya , I totally agree with you
this thread is suppose to be where fans of MJ can talk about him but ending up talking about Shahrukh a lot. No matter much some people don’t like Shahrukh they always have to talk to him and not stick to the topic. “hate me or love me, but you can’t ignore me” and he is so correct

anyways its just so sad that MJ passed away. I love him a lot and was a fan of him. Its just so sad that he is gone.

  • It just couldn’t believe it when MJ passed away it just hit me like a ton of bricks and I was like wait a minute let read that again maybe I made a mistake. He was just one of a kind and there will never be another one like him. I remember when his thriller video came out and whenever they use to show it on tv I was just a little kid and get glued to the screen and I use to be like wow what a guy and his dancing singing everything about him was just great. But more than a great singer and entertainer he was a great human being and the poor guy had nothing but leeches around him his whole life who only used him for his money and he was just a little kid stuck in an aging man’s body, and he just loved kids because in them he saw innocence and with them he also lived his childhood, but the media just took that and twisted it into something disgusting. We all will truly miss him so much, its as if the day he died the soul of music dies as well, what will we do with out him he went to too soon.

I don’t know what vin, wrote but I did read some of his post and his basic facts about MJ are absolutely true he did suffer from vitiligo and lupus I’ve seen pictures of him from the mid 80’s and one obvious sign of lupus is a butterfly rash across the cheeks and nose which he did have and it can be life threating. As far as his surgeries go he did initially have it to correct a broken nose but it didn’t go right the first time so he needed a second surgery then in 1984 he suffered severe burns to his head filming a pepsi commercial and its believed its around this time that he started abusing painkillers and took to plastic surgery like crazy. I think MJ was just really mentally sick because of what his father did to him and he needed help which no one ever offered because no one ever truly cared for him. There was nothing wrong with his hands wearing gloves was just a trademark otherwise why would he wear it on just one hand. Poor guy not that he is gone its too late to help him.

Finally I don’t see any resemblance whatsoever between MJ and sharukh khan. anyone mind explaining.

  • Its really sad to see Fathiya and others talk ill about MJ.People who comment at this point of time when he is no more are worthless.all u guys need 2 leave the dead man alone.he is no more .Atleast try to remember his good works.its true that micheal had a serious skin disorder called vitilligo and lupus.Look at this video for more info :

    (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQ6b7kHGsSg).(video about his skin disorder)

People who criticise him are really immatured. He did so much for the poor..gave most of his earnings to charity…they can never b an entertainer who can impersonate him.Admire the guy for what he was inside rather than concentarting on his faults.Watch his video called Childhood..it s very touching.here’s the link to it.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmlrp3uZtx0n ( Childhood Video)

Rest In Peace MJ…May u receive the love from the lord ,that people haven’t given u…!

  • To MJ Rocks

You’re very true. We should and all do remember the good things about him. As matter fact of one looks with a pure mind and heart and never did anything to those children what some people claim he did. This world is just so sick sometimes, MJ was a pure soul and died a lonely man, and all he ever wanted was unconditional love, but right from the start including his father and everyone thereafter just sucked him for his blood and money, and he just finally gave out I think. In a way its good he is gone, he’s from from all the misery and no one can hurt him now.
