A few multiplexes in Bangalore : Started slow, morning shows were poor (20%).. but has picked up for the afternoon shows (40 – 50%). The word of mouth is good.
Mumbai : In Mumbai too the start was slow (30%) afternoon shows were better. But lower than expected for a big budget film starring Salman Khan.
4:00 PM IST update – Single screens are poor, business has picked up after a slow start this morning. Advance booking for evening shows are good. Critic reviews and audience reactions are pretty positive.
7:15 PM IST update – Business has doubled for the evening and night shows. Few screens at select multiplexes in Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai are sold out (shows are 9PM). For those curious, Aladin looks almost certain to be a disaster, unless it picks up on Saturday and Sunday.
11:00 PM IST update – Day 1 at multiplexes was mixed for London Dreams. Collections improved drastically during the later half of the day at multiplexes. Not doing too well on single screens. More updates tomorrow, stay tuned.

Saturday updates
Bangalore – Good business at multiplexes throughout the day, especially INOX and PVR Cinemas. Single screens aren’t too great in Bangalore.
Mangalore (Karnataka) – Fantastic collections at Big Cinemas (Bharat Mall). When we contacted the Manager of the multiplex he said “London Dreams is doing well, family audiences are loving it, collections should improve further on Sunday. Aladin opened very poorly, around 10% occupancy for the Morning show on Saturday. Its targeted at the kids and Sunday being a holiday, we expect a better response.”
Mumbai – Much like Bangalore, Business has picked up after a slow start on Friday. Sunday is expected to be even better.
Overall, all India business for the first 2 days should be around Rs 100 million (10 crores – nett gross).

Sunday updates – Appreciation from the youth and family audience alike has resulted in excellent collections on Sunday all over. Doubled the collections of Saturday, which is a good sign. The weekend business is around 15 – 17 crores.

Monday – The India Australia cricket match has affected collections. Overall Week 1 collections are expected to be somewhere between 24 – 28 crores, which is good. Much like Blue, second week is crucial for London Dreams. But unlike Blue which had no competition in its second week, two biggies release this Friday – Jail and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. While Jail wouldn’t prove to be much of a competition, Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif’s APKGK would be the first choice next week. Will London Dreams show life this weekend or end up being an average grosser, remains to be seen.
Tuesday – Bad news! The collections have dropped after recording decent collections on Monday. The drop was expected (since Monday was a holiday) but with 2 big releases coming up, the show-count would reduce drastically at multiplexes for London Dreams. A HIT seems highly unlikely now. Open second week would have been ideal. Lifetime nett gross should struggle to touch 40 crores in India.

Updates: London Dreams crashed further on Wednesday and Thursday. The first day of Week 2 (Friday) saw a drop of more than 75% compared to its first Friday. Lifetime nett gross should be under 31 – 32 crores which would be way below expectations. Below average / Flop likely. Very disappointing.

- Week 1 – 23 crores
- Week 2 – 7 crores
Total in 2 Weeks – 30 crores
Box office Verdict – FLOP
SUNDAYZ COLLECTION U WIL GET TO KNW TOMORROW… BUT SATURDAYS WAS AROUND 5.5 CRORE…
It’s not about the number of hits u give.. As far as I know salman khan has more hit and blockbuster than akshay… All respect to akshay… But I think salman is a bigger star even due to his many flop movies… Put any actors (when I say any, i mean it), in the flop movies sallu played and I bet on it they won’t be given another movie, let alone making a come back sallu did with movies like tere naam and wanted and so on… It’s the personality that counts… Not only acting…. I bet if u go across India, u will find 1000s of shahrukh and 1000s of akki but sallu and his determination is rare…Everytime the media and the people rule him out, he is back with a bang… Lot of credit also goes to his loyal fanbase… And he has something in him that makes his fans support him in his every step…
guys LD is a good movie salman performance in LD is out of this world he should get best actor award for this movie or for wanted atleast. LD is of hollywood standard n there has been no such movie in bollywood before.salman made us cry n laugh in this movie wonderful acting

London dream was the movie which i was waiting for a long time. This movie was something beyond my expectation . This is the best movie of the year. Salman did his best acting in this movie. He is a real superstar. I think this year awards should go to Salman. His acting was tremendous .

SRIJON, akki didn’t have the lead role in MSK but he stole the show over the leading man of MSK, that is a known fact. Jony, sunny deol is good but most of action are fake, akshay showed what action is, he can fight kung fu and do daredevil stunt, he is always referred in the press as the action king of bollywood. He even got awarded a Katana.
Punit Wanted isn’t a Blockbuster, go and see BOI, Tarun, Komal Nahata their verdicts, they are the trade, BOI has it as superhit and other has it as Hit only. No Entry was also a Superhit. Salman has 4 Blockbusters, that is MPK and HAHK as ATBB and Karan Arjun and Partner as BB. SRIJON check the trade before giving ur faltu verdict. great movie …Ajay Devgan did an outstanding negative role …Asin and Salmans chemistry is gud but i seriously feel that Salman needs to improve his acting in emotional areas and his dialogues hmmmm i really cant find fluency in his dialogues it seems as if he has to force it out . I have seen the movie, I think Rajeev Nasand has gone out of his mind and calling this movie “foolish”, I think he should quit this job, many of the films he has degraded and came as super hit or blockbuster, when you citically review films , it is understanbale that to seek the plot of the film but commercial touch is very necessary which lacks in Masand’d review, like Veer ZARA of SRks, had fundamental fault that, after he resigned, he went to lahore(Pak) right away to meet Priety, which is not allowed in normal practice, you have to wait at least 2 years to fly to your sensitive nabours., but every bodu accpted the movie regardless of this major flaw, even the visa and other hurdles were also therem but this is commercial cinema not ART, so it requires some ease and loosen up attitude towards the movie, Rajeev MAsand is a loser
