The Ra One Satellite rights record of Rs 35 crores has been broken. After the success of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Hrithik Roshan market value has risen tremendously and the Satellite rights of Krrish 3 which will hit screens late in 2012, has been sold for a mind-boggling Rs 38 crores!
According to reports, Star TV has acquired the rights of the sequel to the 2006 blockbuster Krrish.
That’s not all, the music rights of the film has been sold too. T-Series has purchased the exclusive rights for Rs 6 crores!
That’s about Rs 44 crores recovered and the Roshan’s are dancing all the bank, even before the release of the film. Infact, the shooting only begins later this year! Quite unbelievable this.

Cool.. But Indicine i think its Krrish 2 not 3.. :P
But i’m not sure even because koi milgaya also its franchise..
Its Krrish 3. Hrithik himself has confirmed.
Great news.. movie will be a big hit.. Hrithik will be unstoppable after znmd.. Agneepath will be superhot too
Indicine.. any idea how much the satellite rights for Agneepath are?
Meera, Agneepath rights haven’t been sold yet. Some producers wait till the film releases, i.e if they are confident of their product.
What’s surprising is the price that Krrish 3 has been sold for. That too when the film is yet to go on floors! Wonder if the film would have fetched a much bigger amount had it been sold late 2012 – 2013..
@indicine
the satellite rights for d Ra.one was 40 crores .
http://www.mid-day.com/entertainment/2011/mar/160311-films-satellite-rights-Rs-40-crore-highest-Hindi-film.htm
may be after release of krish 3 nobody will give 44 crores so its better to take it now…the same has happened to ravana n kites which was taken by reliance for whopping 50+ crores. later after disastrous show at d box office it was reduced.
The film’s satellite rights have been sold for Rs 40 crore — the highest for a Hindi film
At R 40 crore, Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra.One has set a record of sorts. That’s the amount a channel has paid for the satellite rights to the film. And this, long before the film is even due for theatrical release! What’s more, it is the highest amount paid for a Hindi flick’s satellite rights.
i think krish3 and ra.one will be the biggest flops in indian cinema.
Yaaa, i hated Krrish it sucked yuck, why are they making a sequel???????
Those people are fools who say that krrish 3 will b a flop.
Indicine team..you’re mistaken..Ra.One satellite rights were sold for 40cr..not 35Cr beating 33cr of 3I and 38cr of Krissh2..recheck that..(confirmed by wikipedia article..BOI and bollywoodhungama)
And Ra.One’s music rights have been sold for 10cr..
So ra.one’s record are still intact..
Aashkaran, that was reported way back in March. Hemal Jhaveri of Star confirmed that the figure was incorrect. The confirmed figure is 35 crores for Ra One.
Nikhil, 50 crores? Guess your talking about worldwide distribution rights.. The Satellite rights of both Kites and Raavan was initially sold to Colors for Rs 45 crores. Later when Kites tanked, Colors re-negotiated the deal with Reliance and both films were then sold for 30 crores.
Dont really know the exact details about these pre-release deals, but there would definitely be a clause that would allow the deal to be re-negotiated, IF the film under-performs at the box office.
correct your info indicine its krish 2 not 3 and ra one rights sold for forty cr for your knowledge
Joe, its Krrish 3.. As mentioned before, Hrithik has confirmed the title.
well , this film looks superhot and it will turn out to be a super blockbuster !!!!!!!!!
Everything is right..but Indicine Team..I think..u should research a bit more..’coz ra.one was sold for 40cr..
I heard it through Taran Adarsh..and Boxofficeindia..and its also written on wikipedia..on Krissh2 or 3’s page..that it was sold for 38cr next to Ra.One..
Yuckk, why??????????????????????????????????
Krrish 1 was medicore why a qequel?
