Venkatesh Prabhu Kasthuri Raja better known as Dhanush, is a national award winning actor. Now his song – Kolaveri Di – to which he has lent his voice and also written the lyrics, has become a rage all over the nation. Even in North India where people don’t listen to Tamil songs.

Composed by the 21 year old Anirudh Ravichander, the song became popular when it was released by Sony on video sharing website Youtube. When asked how the song happened, Anirudh says “Dhanush sang in broken English, like a Tamil guy would sing if his knowledge of English was limited, and we used the same thing for the whole song.”
