Salman Khan’s KICK has taken an unprecedented opening at the box office. For the morning shows, the Pre-Eid release has had little or no impact on the opening as several shows were houseful as early at 8 in the morning.
Mumbai circuit opened well, cities like Pune, Ahmedabad, Kolhapur and several others took 80% plus opening. In Mumbai, the film is running on a record 1100+ shows for the day and occupancy was 80-85% on an average for the morning shows. Mysore circuit was no different, Bangalore took a strong start of 75%, while Mangalore, which is screening a record 45 shows of the film, took a 80% start.
The story is similar in other circuits too. Bihar, Delhi/UP, Rajasthan, East Punjab, C.P, C.I have all been blown over by the superstar who has made a strong comeback after Jai Ho.
The first day business of KICK looks certain to be above the 25 crore mark and could be much more, even 30 crore plus, if the drop in the noon / evening is not too big. Films like these tend to take an extraordinary start in the morning, but begin to drop 1PM onwards. But early reports from a few centres suggest, it has held on pretty well for the noon shows too.
Now for the best news of the day. The reports from the morning shows is EXTRAORDINARY. The trade is super-confident that the film will not just go on to break the records of Dhoom 3, but be the first film to cross 300 crores! Many expected Kick to be an out-an-out action film, but as the closing credits roll, it gives you so much more – action, comedy, romance, emotions and Salman in the form of his life! Go give it a try, you won’t be disappointed!

man I am really happy for salman and I hope for the best for this movie because salman truly deserve for finishing movie at breakneck pace. after a dull year I wish this movie becomes the first huge blockbuster of the years and I tell you all this is just a start because after this there is ajay in august, hrithik in October, srk in Diwali and finally perfectionist himself on Christmas and people thought last year was a year of big films. anyway happy for salman and hopes this trend continues to make it a blockbuster. thank you indicine for the update.

Wow! Just back home after watching it..
There are movies. There is entertainment. There is awesomeness. There is celebration. There is experience. There is Kick.
Absolutely loved. I have watched Telugu kick more than 8 times. I have not expected they would have changed the screenplay more than 60% from the Telugu one. Telugu version was more of a comedy but this one is more of action and romance. They have made it grand.
