Ki and Ka has surpassed all trade expectations on Day 1 at the box office and recorded the 3rd highest opening day of 2016. It’s also the first film this year to surpass expectations, because ‘Airlift’ with a superstar like Akshay Kumar, was on par with what was expected out of the film on Day 1. No other film has broken away and performed above expectations.
The opening is higher than Arjun Kapoor’s last release ‘Tevar’ which appealed to a larger section of the audience and also got a wider release.
The first day business is also higher than ‘Kapoor & Sons’, a film that was carrying extraordinary reports and also had chartbuster music. The only real advantage that ‘Ki and Ka’ had was that it wasn’t competing against cricket.
It’s difficult to exactly pinpoint the reason for the success of ‘Ki and Ka’, because it was a very risky film that could have sunk on Day 1 itself. A film like ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’ also starring Kareena Kapoor in the lead, collected Rs 2.8 crore and was a washout on the day of its release.
It could be Arjun’s entry into television with ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ that has helped ‘Ki and Ka’ on Friday.
All eyes will now be on the weekend of ‘Ki and Ka’. A growth of around 15-20% would set it up well for a 10 crore plus Sunday.

Film s good , but nothing exceptional.
They treated d subject quite nicely.
But d movie is also based on a fiction , kyunki hamare yaha baatein to badi badi sabhi karte hai par kya sachmein aisa ho sakta hai?
And I thing kareena kapoor acted best in d lot along with rajit kapoor. Others r good also.

I saw it today it was a very gud movie i swear all the cinema hall ppl are laughing and praising the movies and dialogues all enjoyed the movie thoroughly uptill the end credit nobody even walk out of the cinema as we are all hooked to our seat to see the final end credits of the song high heels. Mark my words it will be a super hit or atleast a hit. Will go on sunday with my family to watch again. RECOMENDED to all bollywood fans

Forget bo this movie has totally surprised me. Honestly speaking i had doubts about Ki&Ka ever since its trailer was out and ordinary reviews made me loose all hope. But i have just watched d movie being as much neutral as possible and it’s definitely a good movie that’s worth a watch. 1st half drags a bit but gradually pickys up & the 2nd half is the movie’s usp especially those scenes involving Kabir’s rise to fame and the 2 scenes involving the Bachchans. Performances are another high point of the movie especially by Arjun and Rajit Kapoor.
But what let’s the film down is Balki’s direction that is very inconsistent and makes the 1st half look sluggish.
Overall a good entertaining unique film.
My rating 3.25/5. Go for it
Even FAN is targeted at the class audience but since it’s a Shahrukh Khan film so the appeal can be wider..I hope that film also surprises at the box office because there is a partial holiday for Ram Navmi so the collections should start improving from noon onwards only rather than evening onwards..Also,much will depend on what kind of an opening it takes in the morning shows…
