We all know Shahid Kapoor has won the Best Actor at the 12th Rajiv Gandhi National Awards to be held on 19th August, but the surprise is Katrina Kaif will be awarded the Best Actress award! Many believe the award is for her performance in New York, although it is not confirmed.
Does Katrina deserve the award? We dont really think so, there have been far too many superior performances in the last one year, which surprisingly has been overlooked.
In the past, actors like Hrithik Roshan, Shahrukh Khan, Rani Mukherji, amongst others have won the prestigeous award.

No not at all. who can’t speaks the language properly and her acting is ok . And we have seen great performances last year..

No.. not yet.. she still got a long way to go.. her performance was good in New York.. but to get an award for last year performance..no.. she didn’t do a great job in 2008, and New York was released in 2009.. this year! if the national award is for the performances during 2008 then Priyanaka is the only actress who worked hard last year and not Katrina.
katrina does not deserve any award. she is not a good actor. RGA has no prestigious side left to it.
for someone to have so many back to back hits….there must be something about them that is good. she does not overact as most bollywood actors do. she would fit very well into a hollywood movie. here in SA, she has a huge fan following. many would watch a movie just because Kathrina is in it. here movies generally bring in a lot of money….did she have any flops….
she has the x factor. she is so calm and composed. i wish her all the best.

Katrina is undoutedly the most beautiful actress all over the world. i agree that she does not act VERY well but on the contrary, she is working very hard, she is taking hindi lessons….and her hardwork is reflected in her performance in New York.
Hi Iam big fan of katrina but i didnt think she deserve this award if it’s called best actress award, i prefared to be called the honour award for the contribution she brought in indian cinema, but not best actress. Thats why i didnt respect all indian film award bcos most of the winners they didnt deserve it. Anyway iam happy in other hand as per as fans concern, and i wish the real one it’s on the way very soon.
I think she is a good actor but uptil now she has not given an award wining performance,she is an average actor apart from her beautiful looks.there are so many others that could win that prestigeous award like Priyanka,Aishwarya Rai and Asin but never the less i still feel that it is not unfair to give the award to Katrina because she is not so bad actor but little bit less than Aishwarya and Priyanka.

She deff. does not deserve it!! I mean seriously what has she done that is sooooo good. She is just one of those ppl. who just act because there good looking, she can’t dance well, she can’t even speak HINDI i mean at least try to learn it when you act for BOLLYWOOD!!! Katrina Kaif definitely deserves this award. She did do a wonderful job in New York. And think about it: she came to india having never been there before and not knowing the language and now she’s one of the most popular actresses. Plus she deserves brownie points for salvaging her career from the debacle that was Boom.

i have seen new york and she truly deserved it. i mean think about it. her acting and hindi was on point and so were her expressions. she really deserved it and people still rememeber her as mays shakih till this day
