Kapoor & Sons has performed reasonably well on Day 1 at the box office. The film opened poorly, the occupancy was around 20% for the morning shows on Friday.
But positive reports resulted in business showing an upward trend from noon itself.
While the film has collected Rs 6.85 crore on Day 1, the first day business could have been closer to the 7.5 – 8 crore mark had the makers chosen a better day to release Kapoor & Sons. The exam season along with the ongoing T20 World Cup (there were two big non-India matches on Friday), has had an impact on business.
Cricket will continue to affect the business of Kapoor & Sons on Day 2, as the India vs Pakistan match is scheduled to take place 7PM onwards tonight. It’s on Saturday night that urban multiplex films tend to peak and those crucial few shows will be affected because of cricket. The impact of any cricket match featuring India is huge, but the internet around a Indo Pak match is on a different level altogether.
If Kapoor & Sons manages to pick up by around 5-10% on Saturday, then Sunday business could be closer to the 10 crore mark.

Simply Loved d film.
Some scintillating performances from the cast makes this 1 a must watch.
Fawad khan is outstanding.
Like His equation with his brother or d emotional attachments with his parents r so perfect that sometimes u feel that he is d real son of ratna pathak n rajat kapoor.
Ratna pathak is top notch , rajat kapoor n rishi kapoor both r performed grt.
But I think sid is a miscast. Sorry but he is not good enough for dis role.
But honestly speaking Its not a perfect one. phir bhi don’t know why but this 1 touches d heart .
Maybe because those who doesn’t have any family like me always understand d value of it.

Good collections but it will fail to show growth today coz of INDO-PAK cricket match.
I had advised u to get d fbo up but u didn’t listen. Anyways film will jump by around 30% today despite the indo pak match
I am satisfied with the FBO..it was around 6 crore hence a figure between 5.5-7 crore was on cards..if it would have taken an 8 crore opening day or so then the predictions were wrong for sure..Well done..

Today’s cricket match will definitely affect the film a lot…since these kind of films show best occupancies during Saturday nights,because of a huge match tonight, the film has to start doing business from today morning only to compensate for the loss in the evening.. If it actually manages a strong growth despite all odds then the film is on for a huge run and most certain to become the highest grosser of March

These days any medium budget movie’s promotion & advertising costs are 15-20cr. After seeing massive promotion I can say kapur and sond’ PA costs are not less than 15.
And with remaining 25cr they managed everything (acting fees, production costs etc). What a joke!!!!!!…. LOL.
Why KJO is circulating lower budget b4 the release date of the film realising that this film will be a loss incurring one..?

difference between indicine prediction and official is only 1.05 crore. you should keep 1 crore differece accuracte for less than 10 crore opening. 3 crore difference for more than 10 crore opening. sometimes difference in your prediction is more/ less 5 crore than official still you call it accurate.
