Kapoor & Sons is a massive success at the box office. The film has lost about 10% of its business to cricket and exams, but it’s going to be a hugely profitable film for Dharma Productions and Fox Star Studios.
The film needed around 40 crore net at the domestic box office to recover costs. But the lifetime business will be in the 70 crore range, making it the 3rd highest grosser of 2016 – after Airlift (127 crore) and Neerja (75 crore).
With Arjun Kapoor’s Ki & Ka releasing this week, the film only has an outside chance of becoming the 2nd highest grosser of the year. The big cricket match on Thursday (India vs West Indies semi-final) will affect business.

Very happy with the films performance though would hv loved to see it doing 80cr+ lifetime. Anyways now all eyes on ki&ka. Hope it becomes another acclaimed superhit for youngistaan

Personally I have no problem with Arjun kapoor… I think he is a honest and dedicated actor….Critics have been abit harsh on him but that won’t affect Ki & ka esp if the story line is ticks with the audience.
