Joker has opened to a shockingly low response at the box office on Friday. The opening at places was as low 5-10%. The all India opening is around 20-25%.
A few exhibitors have reported that the occupancy for the afternoon shows is low too.
Unless Joker picks up for the evening and night shows, the opening day collections could be less than 4-5 crores nett.

For who dont know about ‘kick’. It is one of most entertaining, exciting telugu movie of the recent times and just watch it in telugu to enjoy it, even if you dont understand telugu. But the only worry is this ‘rare, special genius species’ of a director who was named shirish kunder by his parents, directing the movie. Wonder if ra.1 was made by him, ‘mental specialist’ doctors would have had become millionaires. I think farha should seriously do something about her ‘loving & talented’ hubby otherwise shirish would be literally dancing to her tunes.

A k flop movies can make profit .. 30 cr in theaters and 10 cr music and tv rights can make balance … How can it flop .. And srk raw one was 150 cr budget movie and collected 125 cr in india .. Just average movie… And Ak don’tneed festival season or public holidays
@raghav. If a good movie is remaked from other languages, then what is the problem? A good movie will be good movie in any language. Dabaang was remaked in telugu starring pawan kalwan who was until then struggling for hits, and the movie is now one of the highest grossing movies in tollywood history. Even 3 idiots was remaked in tamil, is now tamil film industry’s highest grossing movie after rajni kanth’s robot. And remember all movies are not remaked only superhit or blockbusters are. If your are a producer and investing all you lifetime hardearned money in a movie, then which movie would you prefer? A blockbuster to be remaked or in a ‘new,novel, unpredictable’ movie, where you dont even know how audiences would be receiving it? It is not that only salman is remaking, most of the actors are and i am saying with 100% guarantee that if srk’s next few movies keep underperforming then even srk would be forced to do a telugu or tamil remake. And this is a guarantee.

@raghav. Let us be realistic and practical. Movie industry has now become a sort of commercial business based on actor’s popularity and no more of the movie’s ‘cinematic quality’ though some movies are exception to this. We can make movies on our great historical characters, our great leaders and a war movie like ‘border’ with best cinematic quality but the problem is only few people watch them though they are all great and inspiring movies. The irony and hard truth is that a movie based on mahatma gandhi or abdul kalam’s life will not break box office records but a gangster based movies like OUATM surely can. My all time favorite movies are the gandhi, the legend of bhagat singh, netaji subhash chandra bose which were all great biopics and inspiring movies, but all of them were commercial disasters except gandhi. Today it is all about entertainment…..entertainment…….entertainment……..more entertainment and much more entertainment……:)
