John Abraham talks box office, says Rocky Handsome is safe

Actor John Abraham, who awaits the release of his action film ‘Rocky Handsome’ on Friday, has said box office collections do matter to him and that his latest film is safe – as long as it takes a decent opening at the box office.

“The film has been made in a particular budget and fortunately, I have already sold the satellite, music and overseas distribution rights. So even if Rocky Handsome opens modestly, I am safe” John said.

Talking about his box office expectations from Rocky Handsome, the actor said he wants his films to hit numbers that he hasn’t been able to achieve before.

“Collections do matter, but I want people to appreciate it as well. I want my film to hit numbers I haven’t seen before”

John hasn’t been successful as a solo hero, but has found box office success in comedy multistarrers like Welcome Back and Housefull 2.

Rocky Handsome releases in theatres on March 25. It’ll face stiff competition from ‘Batman vs Superman’ and last week’s well-established multiplex film ‘Kapoor & Sons’. However, the film has the potential to score at smaller centres.

  • Fantastic.. it’s important to get economics of a movie right.. else spending a lot of money on a movie puts a lot of pressure on the actor too. Good to make movies that are moderately safe instead of wasting money on Fitoor and Bombay Velvet.. making it almost impossible to recover.

Looking forward to Rocky Handsome this week.

  • Dawn of Justice getting pathetic reviews while Rocky Handsome target audience is diff from that of kapoor&sons. So k&s should do 22cr+ in week2

  • @ArjunKapoorka Only Fan, it is getting both extremely positive and negative reviews….But overall, it is better to see batman fight in this movie or Rocky fight in Rocky Handsome than Ugly Kapoor fighting in Devar
