Jai Ho is struggling at multiplexes in almost every circuit in India, except Mumbai where it has held up well for the noon shows after a good start in the morning.
Single-screens are rock-solid, but even at mass-centres the opening is not quite at the same level as what we’ve come to expect from Salman Khan films. Business in South India was pretty flat too, with the film performing well only at select few centres.
The reason behind a good but below-expectations start, could be due to the excess of action-masala films in recent times. Also, Jai Ho didn’t have a popular leading lady and lacked high-production values which is turning out to be the key for a good opening at big-city multiplexes.
The start has practically ruled out any chance of records on Day 1. The only record that Jai Ho could better is for the highest non-holiday opening for a Salman Khan starrer, which is currently held by Dabangg 2 (20.98 crore). But even for that, the film has to pick up at multiplexes towards the end of the day.
As of now, it looks like Jai Ho is likely to be collect around 18-19 crore net on its opening day at the domestic box office.

This is the real taste of salman khan. I am not aginst him infact I like him more than srk aamir, but the release date and production house is very important for the big boxoffice opening.
I just finished to watch Jai Ho. It was crap south action masala film, will struggle to touch 100cr.

Some fools are comparing 3 big Holiday (Eid, Diwali & Christmas) releases with a non Holiday release that too 26th january Repulic Day being Sunday the movie wont get a single Holiday apart from weekends !!!! In worst case it will beat Srk’s Don 2 which was a Christmas release in 2011 !!!!!

Acc to rediff salman’s character jai is similar to somewhat sunny deol’s character deva of film ziddi of 96.
It is just same as last year movie singh saab the great and satyagraha.

At the end of the day movie should b good to get collections, open week close week doesn’t matter much if the movie is good enough. HAHK & DDL with lesser screen’s were money spinner.
It’s a big joke that with open week CE would have cross 300cr.
Speaking about star power why did SRK’s biggest blockbuster DDL didn’t crossed HAHK collection’s.
SRK requested Ekta kapoor to postpone their movie UATIM 2 promising them to give screen’s for weekend, so that CE could have safe release, but didn’t stand on that promise later.
If SRK really has that star power and those SRK fans who cry for Salman remakes just tell one thing why the hell SRK kept guest role of Super Star Rajni in Ra one movie and a tribute song in CE? Answer is simple just to use image of Rajni from south market to get collections.

2. if u make bad films in name of entertaitment and ur films gets blocbuster then it doen mean people will give every time chance (example sajid khan – himmatwala after two blocbuster)

4. if jai ho make only 150 crore then it will be claeed flop because eros has taken indian theathrical right in 120 core , but film has nothing tht quality value like ett or dhoom3 in production so eros have giv a very big but wrong price

I have really liked and enjoyed the movie. But some comments in Paglapurian language here worried me. So, I watched at least 10 videos of Public opinions (Cinegoers’ Reactions) on Jai Ho. 95% of them enjoyed the movie. So, Salman’s target has been fulfilled.
People liked it. WOM is very good. Jai Ho will earn a lot in the long term. Even if it can collect 190 Crores, it would be record breaking because it is a non-holiday release. Let’s see how far it can go.

200 crore is lil tough to achieve since its a non-season film except 26th January holiday that is also coming on sunday n as far as January month is concern somewhere not good for salman bhai films eg: veer :(
