Why is the percentage of critically acclaimed smaller budget a-grade films much higher than big budget films, which are either thrashed or receive a mixed response from critics? The answer is quite simple, big budget films need to cater to the masses to recover its huge investment, hence the added masala scenes, song and dance routines etc. But smaller films, with a budget of less than 5 crores, release on a limited number of screens, most often starring talented ‘actors’, can make profits purely from its multiplexe run at major cities.
One such film is Ishqiya, directed by Abhishek Chaubey and produced by Vishal Bhardwaj, who also share the credit for the screenplay.
The looks absolutely brilliant and all the lead actors – Naseeruddin Shah, Arshad Warsi and Vidya Balan – seem to have delivered fabulous performances.
Here is a film, that we just can’t wait to watch! Vishal Bhardwaj and Naseeruddin Shah rock!
“Tumhara ishq ishq.. humara ishq? sex..” Brillaint, dialogues should be great!
