A day after his comments erupted into a controversy, actor Irrfan Khan has asked clerics not to try and scare him. He also said he is thankful to live in a country that is not governed by ”religious contractors” .
In a series of tweets, the actor said:
“Please Bhaiyon, who are upset with my statement, either you are not ready to introspect or you are in a hurry to reach to a conclusion”
“For me religion is about personal introspection, it’s a source for compassion, wisdom and moderation and not for stereotyping and fanaticism”
“Clerics don’t scare me !! Thank God I don’t live in a country governed by religious contractors (thekedars ) #FREEDOM” he tweeted.
Irrfan’s comments at a function to promote his new movie ‘Madaari’, quickly became controversial after clerics slammed him for him for talking about Islam.
The actor had said “We have forgotten the real meaning of rituals. We have made them a tamasha. Qurbani means sacrificing something close to your heart and sharing with others. Today, you buy a goat from the market for sacrifice. It is something to think about, it is a matter of common sense, we all should ask ourselves how sacrificing another life earns us any goodwill” he commented.
“Nowadays we have lost the relevance behind such religious activities and perform these rituals without knowing the meaning behind them. Rather than fasting during Ramzan, people should self-introspect… We Muslims have also made a mockery of Muharram. It is meant for mourning and what we do? Take out (tajiya) processions”
In response to his comments, Qalam Raza Nuru, a cleric had said “I don’t know in what context he said it, but I know that performers don’t know much about religion. I advise him to stay within his limits”
Zafaryab Gilani of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board said “Such comments are condemnable”
But Irfan said about India or Indian ruling system are very true although it is also corrupted like any other government in the world is.

Regarding Qurbani and fast, well I think this person needs to Have a look into Holy Quran . Qurbani is mandatory if capable of at Eid-ul-Adha.
Sacrifice is just submitting your will to God and remembering the Sacrifice of Ibrahim A.S . To test the patience of Abraham , Allah ordered him to sacrifice his son for thee , upon which Abraham agreed and asked his son Ismail a.s and the son happily nodded in agreement and the moment the sacrifice was about to happen , there came God’s message , you have passed your test , no need to sacrifice Ismail
The Qur’anic account of the sacrifice of Isma’il ultimately speaks against blood atonement.
37:102-107
“Then when (the son) Reached (the age of)(Serious) work with him
He said: “Oh my son! I see in vision That I offer thee in sacrifice:
Now see what is Thy view!” (The son) said: “Oh my father! Do As thou art commanded: Thou wilt find me, If Allah so wills one Practicing patience and constancy!”So when they had both Submitted their wills (to Allah), And he had laid him Prostrate on his forehead (For sacrifice),We called out to him, “Oh Abraham!””Thou hast already fulfilled The vision!” thus indeed Do We reward Those who do right.For this was obviously A trialAnd We ransomed him With a momentous sacrifice”
The ritual of sacrifice is just done to remember this great sacrifice of Abraham A.S , I don’t think mr. irfan khan would have known anything about it !!!
Now coming to Fasting !!!!
Fasting is one of the five pillars of Islam . Fasting is mandatory for all Muslims except for those who are unhealthy amd can’t fast !!!
Fasting is done to learn how to abstain yourself not only from eating or drinking but also from keeping your inner soul , heart , mind , body , ear, hands , toungue clean . You have to fully submit yourself to the will of God , so that you abstain from doing wrong deeds !!!! Also the motive of fasting is to taste the conditions of those poor people who don’t have anything to eat and in order to help them we Firstly witness their misery and then muslims donate a part of their wealth ( in the form of zakaat, sadka fitur, ashur) etc to poor !!!! Did you know it Mr. Irfan khan???
Regarding terrorism , I will tell you Islam is a religion of peace and never allows !!

Now have look at this verse of Holy Quran
“Be righteous and act just fully to those who worship another god”
Quran (60:8) . Islam promotes peace and love , not hatred and war !!!

Irrfan’s statement is partially true
Regarding the tazia thing its completely false and we are not supposed to harm ourselves. We shdnt even celebrate muharram. The qurbani in eid ul adha is somewhat true too. We have to sacrifice something close to us which people dont do these days. They just buy an animal n slaughter it…but he got himself completely wrong about fasting. It is about the feeling of poors who starve because of no food and water and also to thank Allah that he blessed us wid such neccessities. Islam is the simplest and peaceful religion irrespective of what people say about us.
If a guy attacks a building its an attack. But if a guy attacks a building and he is a muslim its a terrorist attack.thats how the world works these days.

I am a young muslim from U.K and I feel he should not comment on the Islamic religon as he clearly has no idea what he is talking about and by all means he can carry on making Hindu nationalists happy. He is an actor in a third world country so in retrospect his opinions are not even valid. First of all Irfan khan is just a ignorant muslim and a normal human being working in the film industry. He has no idea about what he spoke. A little knowledge can be dangerous sometimes.
ABOUT MOHARAM: Not all muslim celebrate Tajiya or do Matam, only few sections of the society does it. Rest good muslims go to Masjid’s and remember martyrs in their in their prayers. Those who support Irfan khan comments can visit masjids to clear their doubt about actual meaning of Moharam.
ABOUT RAMADAN: Irfan khan says “Introspection”. does he know the meaning of these words. Because if you closely study “fasting is been one of the most important aspect of life and mostly excersied by all spiritual masters on regular basis”. Fasting is not just about not eating food. It is about killing self desires, helping others, doing charity, feeling the pain of poor by not eating the full day, killing ego, killing sex desires and more… The main aspect of fasting is remembrance of god and following the straight and simple path which help you to realize your own self. I think Ramadan is more beautiful in terms of spirituality and remembrance of god.
ABOUT BAKRI EID: I just want to say does Irfan khan know anything about sacrifice because he is too much busy doing films and living so called modern life, I would say just one line here that how people from the family of prophet of islam sacrificed their lives just to save islam from the hands of yazidis.
On the whole it’s Allah’s wish what he wants from us and not our choice. Please try to see full history of bakra eid from prominent sources.

In Islam, no one is forced to do anything by blasphemous. Yes, we enlighten them what to do or what not to do.. what is good or bad.
If Irfan do not want fasting then it is his choice, his life. But, if he portray fasting in bad light then it is no more personal but defamation to entire religion no matter he is Hindu or Muslim or Christian.
Same way, One hindu do not want fasting while navratri then it is his choice, but, suppose, he says Fasting while navratri is bullshit then it is no more personal but insulting to the faith of hinduism.
