Weekly IndicineFBO Update
- Himesh Reshammiya’s Terra Surroor has little or no buzz. The film has been removed from FBO predictions as the collections are expected to be very poor.
- The next big release is Kapoor & Sons starring Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and Fawad Khan in the lead. The trailer was received well, the music (especially Kar Gayi Chull and Bolna songs) are also doing well, but there are various other factors that aren’t working in favour of the film. The lack of freshness as far as the cast is concerned and Dharma persisting with a genre that’s no longer finding favour even with the Urban youth.
- Kapoor & Sons will also face tough competition from the T20 World Cup. There are two big non-India matches (South Africa vs England, Australia vs New Zealand) on the day of its release. On Saturday, the biggie India vs Pakistan match starts at 7:30PM. On Sunday too there are two T20 matches. Not to mention the exam season also begins and the target audience could be either busy studying for their exams or writing them. So the key for Kapoor & Sons will be word-of-mouth, as it has to perform very well after its first weekend.
- The trailer of Rocky Handsome has received a mixed response, but the film should take the biggest opening of March as Friday happens to be a holiday for Good Friday. Cricket will continue to affect business as the India v Australia match is scheduled for Sunday (27 March).
- The makers of Ki and Ka have picked a excellent date to release their film. The exam season will continue in some parts of the country, but will end in South India. There is only one cricket match, which also happens to be the T20 World Cup final on Sunday. If India makes it to the final, the impact on business will be huge. But Ki and Ka has two open weeks at the box office. If content finds appreciation, it has every chance of doing well in the long run.
- Finally, Shah Rukh Khan’s FAN has been gaining momentum in the last couple of weeks. The trailer has crossed the 10 million mark on Youtube and the reach has increased quite significantly after the trailer was aired on TV and at theatres. It’s the biggest release of the year so far and should take by far the biggest opening too.

What a joke by indicine? 21 Cr opening fro stardomless and fanless chotu khan’s movie? LOL. It will not even take 15 Cr opening. This time there is no Rohit, deepika to save his ass so my bet is with best reviews 12 Cr opening and 85 Cr life time for tiny star srKAY.

The momentum is gaining strength as the release of FAN comes nearer. That can also be seen from the increase in your FBO predictions going up from 15 cr (as far as I remember were the initial predictions) to 20.5 cr and now 21 cr plus.
SRK is good at marketing so I believe he will have his plans to keep the buzz going (which will be interesting to see as there are no songs releases for this movie) till the movie release.
After the movie release obviously the content of the movie will be the driver of box office collections.
Well sorry to say but we can not expect our beloved idol to give more than 15 Cr opening on non holiday. Our idol’s last non holiday release was JTHJ with huge diwali release but still the opening was only 15 Cr. But this time its releasing even on worst period, so we can expect may be 10-13 Cr opening and less than 100 Cr life time for our beloved idol’s film. But acting wise we can dream for winning Oscar and many such things without even watching the film. Because we are srkians and so we can go up to any extent. So people please dong laugh if my fellow mates like @haroon1986 expect our idol’s masala classic film fan to be nominated for Oscar. Please dont make fun, because we are srkians so you can understand our mind and our IQ level. :)

Emaraan should pay this Azhar guy, for the promotion of his movies on indicine. This guy is amazing, he praises every big star and earns likes and in the end of his comments mentions about Emraan’s movies. Hats off to his dedication. Only if he had used it for his personal gains he would have made a big name for himself.

When anyone take name SRK then everybody srk fan, hater or common people start talking about it whether it is good or bad..but everyone love to talk about him.

SRK is coming up with something good after long time. I am looking forward to it, I hope the movie will not be burdened with unrealistic Box office numbers. Some times I also feel pity for SRK for being one of the hated stars in industry and having some sense less fans !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

indicine box office predictions are completely wrong and change time by time and its reviews are also completely incorrect
The first day prediction of Fan looks too high considering all the factors like unpopular songs, limited appeal, IPL. But I think its ok considering faulty calculator of RCE.
Indicine is good at analysis compared to other sites……but too many articles on Fan and also they don’t like if they’re criticized. Their review of Neerja said that the movie was depressing and see the result!!
@hrithik no doubt that’s the exact reason why Srk is most hated actor. His fans are such a cheap and disgusting that no matter how hard we try to respect him, these people can not stand and show their psycho mentality by forcing us to bash him. If I would b in place of srk then I would prefer not having fans rather than having such cheap, sadakchap fans like Fasal Kerala, sss, iamAKN, Kaali, phenom, javed, iamFan, zuheeb, etc.

Its not abt buzz… actually himesh is unpredictable when comes to acting… so, accept that yu cant judge the collection thats y u removed it from the prediction chart… yu jz focus on khans as like yu alwyas do…
