Initially scheduled to release in December this year, Imtiaz Ali’s Highway finally has a confirmed release date. The film starring Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda, will release in theatres a week after the Valentine’s Day weekend on February 21 2014.
“The film is looking great and I want to give ‘Highway’ the release it deserves. We’ve tied up with the UTV team who share our vision to ensure that the film reaches deep and wide in India and across international markets,” Nadiadwala said in a statement.
He and Imtiaz Ali have tied up with UTV Motion Pictures for the worldwide and satellite rights of ‘Highway’, a romantic drama from the director of films like Socha Na Tha, Jab We Met, Love Aaj Kal and Rockstar.
In an interview, Ali had said that the story of ‘Highway’ was with him for more than 15 years. There was something ‘very subtle’ and ‘very influential’ about the storyline, that he had intended to be the first film he directs.
