Filmmaker Karan Johar, who has directed film’s like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and the more recent ‘Student Of The Year’, says he will now wield the megaphone next year.
“I take time to direct films as I also have responsibilities as a producer. I get busy in that. I will be directing again next year” he told the media at the ongoing FICCI Frames 2013.
After having moderated a session on the possibility of Indian films earning Rs 1,000 crore, Karan said he would want to make a film which would yield such results.
“I would like to make a Rs.1,000 crore film next” he said.

Just wondering what sort of cast he would need for his film to cross 1000 crores..? Salman, SRK and Aamir together with Kajol, Kareena and Katrina!! How about that?
If Karan makes a good film with that star cast.. 1000 crores worldwide guaranteed :D

KJo is right by saying that the 100cr term is limiting the film-makers’ expectations from a film. However it’s too early to talk about 1000cr. It may be a trend after a decade. Forget 100cr club because movies which can earn 100cr today can’t be even hits. Instead talk about 200cr club.

You will have to take both aamir and srk for 1000 cr. Film because they are the only ones who have 100 cr. Both in india and overseas… Hrithik also will be the great choice

Salman Khan will play the lead role in Rohit Shetty’s next directorial venture under Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. Official detail announcement will be made soon. The new project is just known as Production No 1 for now.
Kjo should concentrate on 100cr first and foremost and should leave the 1000cr target to Aamir and Salman- that is the one combo whole of India will pay a hefty sum to see in theatres. They may not do 1000cr but they sure damn will get closer to 250cr today than any other combo will.

Its a step by step procedure its not as easy as it sounds! back in 70s it was bout 1 crore den from that 10 cr den 50 cr now its 100-200cr! I say at least 10 More years for any really ground breaking result. A SRK,SALMAN nd AAMIR movie would easily break into 1000cr club worldwide !
Hrithik Roshan and Kathrina Kaif will most certainly be in the movie.
The business of 1000.00 crore is not possible yet for any Indian movie if directors like Raju Hirani / Rohit Shetty / K’Jo & other top rated director’s with the combination of top production companies along with top three or four super star among the SRK / Aamir / Salman / Ajay / Akshay / Hrithik & Ranveer Kapoor will able to make movie like Sholay / DDLJ / Three Idiot / Gadar / Singham & some other blockbuster thereafter the movie will manage to do a maximum business of 450.00 cr at Indian BO + 250.00 cr at overseas means a maximum of Rs.700.00 Crore. For 1000.00 crore we have to wait for grow up market.

They should make a big budget mega star movie to make it cross 500 cr atleast, just like they did in the 80s in Naseeb and Amar Akbar Anthony.

Though i hate Kjo, i guess he is the only bridge between all these stars and thus has the only chance could make it happen.

My simple advice to k.jo is to name his next film title as 1,000 crores to simply fulfill his wish as he can say to anyone that “I made 1,000 crore film”.
