Varun Dhawan’s third film has opened well at the box office on Friday. The opening is better than his last release Main Tera Hero, which opened to average occupancy of around 35% for the morning shows. Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania is significantly better at 50%, with North Indian cities like New Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, Chandigarh taking a solid 60% plus opening this morning.
The opening is good in the South too as ‘Mysore circuit’ cities like Bangalore and Mangalore have opened very well. Torrential rains in and around Maharashtra has affected business, especially in Mumbai city.
However, the good opening is restricted to multiplexes as single-screens have opened poorly.
The fact that Varun Dhawan, who has now established a strong youth fan base, is back with the banner that launched him (Dharma Productions) has helped the film take a good start. Alia Bhatt too is popular with the young audience.
Main Tera Hero, released on 2300 screens, collected Rs 6.21 crore on its opening day. Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania should do better, even though it has released on around 5-10% fewer number of screens.
Opening collections should be around 9-10crs..

Should do well in the long run after a 8 crore opening. Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra, Ranveer Singh are now bigger stars than Shahid Kapoor!!
Will never know or understand why someone as talented as Shahid Kapoor has failed to establish himself even after 11 years in the industry. Cant believe he made his debut just 3 years after Hrithik and was compared to him to once. Now nowhere.

These young guys going strength to strength. Ranbir, Ranveer, Arjun, Varun, susanth and Siddrath all are doing very good. A very good news for bollywood. But its is a bad news for old actors who are here for long time without much fan following and boxoffice success like saif, vivek, shaheed, rampal, abhishek and john. Akshay and Ajay is on threshold, they should be careful and choose their project carefully.

the sad news and bad news is that our movie watching public is just mobile phone using public is pathetic as far as the choices go.. the critics and media have no other choice but to toe the line and write fanciful reviews to try and get public to empty their pockets..notably pvr cinemas..
i bet anyone sitting through this movie for the first 15 mts will surely pu;; their hair and walk out..then why bother to buy tickets??? so my plea to our honest poor but retarded public is to get involved in some other activity and give this film a complete ignore..thankyou
