Hrithik Roshan films: Gap between two movie releases

Hrithik Roshan’s Mohenjo Daro and Kaabil are releasing 168 days or 6 months apart, making it the least gap between two Hrithik films after the blockbuster success of Krrish and Dhoom 2 in 2006.

The biggest gap between two of the superstar’s films was when Kites released 827 days (28 months / nearly 2 and a half years) after Jodha Akbar. The next big gap came with 2012’s Agneepath and 2013’s Krrish 3.

On an average, Hrithik releases one film per year.

The below analysis also rubbishes the myth that actors who release two or more films per year are at a serious disadvantage, as Krrish and Dhoom 2 released 5 months apart and both were all-time record-openers and record-grossers. In fact, Krrish and Dhoom 2 were the top grossers of the year.

On the other hand, we have Kites and Guzaarish, both releasing 6 months apart, and both failing to do well at the box office – even though Kites was a record-opener.

• Mohenjo Daro and Kaabil – 168 days (6 months)
• Average gap between two films - 370 days (12 months i.e 1 film per year)
